One can only hope its Brandon Malemanuema. We need a blocking te very badly, particularly one who won't acquire 2 penalties a game.

The New York Jets have signed WR Eron Riley to the active roster from Denver’s practice squad. Eron Riley, a former Duke wide receiver and one time big play threat for the Blue Devils broke into the NFL a couple of years ago with the Baltimore Ravens, where he made quite an impression in the pre-season. Still, he was left off of the final roster, but he possesses all of the tools necessary to be a big play receiver in the NFL. At 6’3″ and about 210 pounds, Riley runs a sub 4.3 second 40 yard dash and has been really turning heads at Broncos camp. Not only that, but he made a highlight reel touchdown grab to give the Broncos their final lead against the Cowboys in the team’s first pre-season game. He also had another couple of key grabs and a first down catch on that touchdown drive to keep the drive alive. Riley was once the ACC’s leader in yards per reception, and he has a really good chance of making the Denver Broncos’ final roster with the trade of Jabar Gaffney and the injury concerns surrounding former first round pick (and fellow ACC playmaker) Demaryius Thomas. The senior wide receiver is home to watch the NFL draft today and Sunday, not certain that his name will be called but secure in the knowledge that he has worked hard to try to prolong his football career. "It's a great feeling," Riley said as the draft approached this week. "I'm not nervous at all. I'm excited." After Riley and his agent, Brian Hamilton, talked with several NFL teams, the player said, "whatever happens, happens." "I've heard everything from the fourth round to a free agent" signing, Riley said. "I just want to have the opportunity." Riley, who lists his greatest attribute as his size (6-foot-3, 206 pounds), helped his cause at Duke's Pro Day on March 16. Working out with other Blue Devils draft-eligible players for about a dozen pro teams, Riley posted numbers that likely exceeded expectations. His time of 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard sprint was faster than any posted by wide receivers at the NFL Combine in February. He also recorded a broad jump of 11 feet, 2 inches, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.06 seconds.

Just reading his physical description, he reminds me of Braylon- He's a big receiver that has speed that can stretch the field. Maybe this kid turns into something good, but odds say not. It would be nice for the Jets to hit jackpot on a PS signing or free agent signing just once .
He should be active on game days imo, I'm not too comfortable with Holmes Burress and Kerley being the only receivers on gameday
The Jets needed someone to stretch the field. Riley has an elite combination of size and speed. I hope he gets a shot over Patrick Turner.
If you want to compare him to a player physically, it's Miles Austin. ... ... ... I'm not expecting big things from this move, but this kind of signing is very similar how Dallas brought in Miles Austin. The Cowboys had to activate him from the PS early because multiple teams were after him.
I dont think anybody is too happy with PLAX. We are grabbing for straws at WR right now. Patrick Turner is not the answer (basically a lean TE). I hope this kid shows us something; he will need field time to do so however
I just hope he's a player that can stretch out the field for us. Make the defense defend the whole field and holes will open for Sanchez.
The Jets went after Miles Austin when he was a restricted free agent. Dallas gave him a second round tender and the Jets understandably passed. This was the off-season before his breakout year. Austin was a Parcell's project, so teams sniffed around early on. They activated him midway through his undrafted rookie year and he made an impact as a return man.
Plax isn't getting it done. The Jets made a quick decision to rid themselves of Mason, maybe Plax will be next. It's getting very obvious the Jets are making it clear they need a WR playmaker paired with Holmes. The WR talent in 2012's draft, from top to bottom, is the best I've ever seen, be prepared for the Jets to draft at least one WR near the top of the draft.
This move has no immediate affect on Plaxico Burress. Eron Riley will most likely be a situational deep threat early on that will hopefully surprise us and develop into much more. While 2012 is stacked, wouldn't it be amazing if we found the next Miles Austin in Riley? For the record, I'm extremely doubtful that will happen...but if he turns out to be a quality playmaker with starting capability, then WR can slide down a bit on our needs board. Even if this move works out, we still need to bring in another wideout and a tight end.
