That's not entirely true. I'm sure if the Rams end up with the #1 pick overall, they're not going to use it to select Luck.
No, but only because it's not time for another rebuild. I'm ambivalent about Sanchez's long term potential, but we've got relatively small window with this current group of guys and I don't want to spend it developing another rookie QB from scratch. Value-wise, 2 first rounders would be a fair price for Sanchez (and it's a massive overpayment for Carson Palmer, fwiw.)
The better question is would any other team offer the jets 2 #1 picks for sanchez. I would guess the answer would be no.
eli manning did not post a QB rating over 80 until his 5th season. will sanchez ever be a top 5 QB in the league? no, I don't think so. can he post eli manning production? I say yes. you can win with that. we already showed we almost won with sanchez below average stats the past 2 years but clutch at the end of games and in the playoffs.
Only if we had someone behind him. McElroy isn't ready otherwise I wouldn't have a problem with trading Sanchez.
I would trade him for 2 #1s in a second. I doubt another team would trade even a 3rd pick for him though.
If he turns out to be the next Peyton Manning you would have to be crazy not to pull the trigger on that deal.
Of course not. This thread is exactly why TGG's main forum is unbearable the day after a win loss or draw. You've been a Jets fan for how long? How many times have we drafted a franchise quarterback that managed two AFCC starts in back to back years in that time period?
Yep. But if Luck busts, you've just made one of the worst trades ever. Unless Sanchez plateaus or regresses and becomes a career backup down the line. I wouldn't trade Sanchez for 2 firsts unless I could make sure I get an elite QB prospect back with one of those picks.
I'll debate that. Andrew Luck is an unknown, and hasn't played a snap in the NFL. Sanchez has made improvements and is a playoff performer, which is rare. They said Bradford would be better than Sanchez, and I'm just not seeing it.
No. Sanchez can win the big game for us. I believe in my QB. we just need to give him protection and time along with consistency at the WR position. Sanchez is not the problem.
