No. we have our franchise QB and I want to keep him rather than get 2 guys who may or may not be productive NFL players. Palmer's situation was different and if I had a choice btw palmer and sanchez I'd take sanchez.
I think Sanchez is a good, young quarterback who will continue to improve. I wouldn't trade him for draft picks.
i was going to propose the same thing the other day. I would have to say it would depend on which team we traded him to. It probably wouldnt make sense because only a contender would make a move like that, so therefore we would end up with a pick in the mid to late first round making it not worth it at all.
I wouldn't even do it if it were for two top 10 picks. You need a QB in this league, and we have one. We trade him and we're probably using those picks to draft another QB, who would then need years to develop. We have our QB, and now we need to continue to build our offense around him.
If Colts offer Manning and 2 #1's for Sanchez, I'm up for it. (And Colts can grab Schottenheimer for free while they're at it.) P.S. I do not necessarily think Sanchez is the part of the problem, but if the offense keeps stinking it up like it has (and not giving enough protection in particular) I am sure Sanchez will get cooked pretty bad. With the two #1s, (along with the #1 Jets already have) Jets should draft 2 stud OLs and a future QB. With solid OL play and good rushing attack, I think any 1st round-worthy QB prospect will do well, provided Schottenheimer gets canned as soon as possible.
On the money junc. We have our guy, the Kid has a long way to go and at his young age the experience of 2 Championship game loses. Next time he'll get over the hump- lets make sure he is in Kelly green when it happens.
I'm not convinced Sanchez is going to develop into a top QB, but I wouldn't trade him unless we had a viable alternative. There's no point drafting another young QB & starting from scratch, unless he's a "can't miss" like Luck. Could you roll the dice on acquiring a guy like Orton? Perhaps, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Say the Rams got the 1st pick & decided to move it(Luck) or Bradford, then perhaps you trade Sanchez & then add to that to upgrade to one of the above. If the Colts decided to move Manning, because they landed Luck, then a case could be made to pull off a deal & chase a ring. We could definitely upgrade from Sanchez, but that would come at the expense of depth, not replenish depth.

Which of course would be retarded of the team to trade the #1 overall pick, essentially the rights to Luck and another #1 for Sanchez. Like i said, just for fun, only if it meant we could walk away with Luck and another first rounder.
Totally Agree with you. Best case scenario is that you have a solid starter and draft a solid prospect who can hold the clipboard for a few years until hes ready. I know Rookies have been starting with some success in recent years. But Aaron Rodgers still shows how important it is to fully learn the game and refine your skills before being thrust into a starting role. Sanchez has little shot at ever becoming Rodgers, but if he was brought along in a similar manner theres no way of telling how good he really could have been.
