Just shipped via gamefly. Stoked, althought not sure how I will split this up with madden and Deus Ex... Curious, how long did Arkham Asylum last in gameplay? Will I have this beat in a week or does this have 40+ hours of gameplay?
I didn't catch that. Sorry, sarcasm detector is defective at the moment. Will be up and running in about 24 hours.
I've heard that the story takes about 25 hours to complete (8-10 for the main story with 15 for side missions). That doesn't include the challenge maps, the Riddler challenges, or any DLC that may be available after release. In case you're on the fence about whether or not to purchase it, I'd highly recommend doing so. The reviews so far have been phenomenal and you'll probably want to play through the story at least twice. I just checked, and it sounds like if you include the 400 Riddler trophies the game reaches about 40 hours. Arkham Asylum took about 12-15 hours to complete.
I dont buy games I intend to play online. I gamefly them. Just an idea, I'm renting deus ex and arkham city now, and will likely get uncharted 3 and battlefield 3 next. Those games will likely hold me over for 3 months for 75 bucks rather than spending $260 on all of them. I only buy madden and call of duty, since I play them year round.
I just played it for a few hours. Took me a little while to get used to the controls again but those haven't changed much since the last game. The biggest noticeable difference is the sheer scope of this one vs. the last one. In the last one you always felt like you were going down narrow corridors or battling thugs in semi-large rooms. In this one, it definitely feels much more wide open. Soaring around feels amazing, particularly when you get the hang of diving through the air. The story so far has been interesting, probably most so for those who can pick out the little references here or there (mostly character related). I've only played through 3% of the game so far and I've already come across Two-Face, Hugo Strange, Penguin, Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and a subtle appearance by Black Mask. This is in addition to non-villains such as Catwoman, Bane (not a villain in this one), Vicki Vale, and Jack Ryder. Just like the last game, the opening will blow you away. So if you liked the first game, you'll like this one. If not, this one probably won't change your mind.
thanks for the write up. i got it yesterday but only had time to enter the codes for the pre-order shite. pool and beer were the order of the day yesterday... so no ps3. will probably bang on this over the weekend.
I played for about an hour, my eyes are starting to get heavy so I'll save it for the weekend. I'm already stuck and was getting frustrated. There's a welded door and I seriously have no idea where I'm supposed to go.
Meh....the game is cool but the controls suck. It's nothing but a bunch of button jamming when thugs come after you on the streets.
