The show has still has writers, just new ones. Kirkman is still involved and that's really all that matters here. He's the brains behind everything. In my opinion, these new writers should just follow his graphic novels. It sucks that Darabont is gone, but I didn't expect him to stay working on a TV show for a long period of time.
It was Darabont's idea to end the season they way he did last year. That last half sucked and AMC gave him a fit about it
The new seasons first few episodes are supposed to be much higher quality than the crappy last few, that is encouraging. Walking Dead Season Review- No Spoilers
I didn't mind the CDC angle, but it was crammed into one episode. If they could have fleshed it out a little more it would have been much better imo. That said, pumped about S2
Gonna wait a couple episodes and look at the reviews before getting into this show, where I would start from the beginning.
The early reviews for season two have been solid. The first season is on Netflix Instant and like Breaking Bad, it's first season is fairly short. Don't get your hopes up about TWD. It's an interesting show with tons of potential, but the first season was inconsistent after an excellent pilot episode. With that said, it's better than anything else you'll find on TV now that BB is over. I'm more excited about AMC's newest show, Hell on Wheels, that starts on November 6th. I just hope people don't compare it to Deadwood.
That's good it's getting solid reviews, I've been desperate for a new show to watch that's live since Breaking Bad ended. I'll definitely check out Hell on Wheels, that looks great.
I think the most telling thing about the season premiere is whether or not they make an effort to get back to the source material. If they do, the show will work. If they don't, it won't, regardless of whether it's a cool episode or not.
Guys I hate to be the one, but if that was good TV, I am a monkeys uncle. The only character I thought was remotely improved upon, was the redneck with the crossbow, he was pretty interesting, other that I was bored to tears by this. I honestly didn't enjoy it much at all.
This, sort of... T-Dogg and Daryl are pointless characters that weren't part of the graphic novels. They don't bring anything to the show. I don't find the show boring. I just think it's incredibly overrated because nothing like this has ever been done.
The season premiere was just okay....I wasn't blown away. I hope the story picks up in the next few episodes.
I love Sepinwall but next time I see him I am kicking him in the nuts. I will watch next week it might get better. If not I might be done and I wont come in here and ruin everyone's enjoyment. I wont be a same old Walking Dead Fan. No SOTWDF for this guy!
Dude, that's one of Darabont's broads. She and the old man (Dale) were also in Stephen King's The Mist.
You should help me convince Shade Tree that American Horror Story is fucking stupid. It may be impossible, but I get enjoyment out of reminding him that he enjoys grown men beating off and crying.
I don't mind Jeff DeMunn as Dale. That was a good casting. However, that carpet muncher is disgusting and she looks nothing like the Carol of the graphic novels.
