Its bad when a thread titled "hypocracy" is on top of the Jets forum.

That's nice and all, but having a positive attitude makes a world of difference in sports.

No doubt a positive attitude is a good thing in a locker room or any organization. What I see alot of around the league isn't what I would call a positive attitude. I call it a tude. Most of it is false bravodo and insecurity. Totally counter productive to winning over time.

The Jets have been walking a fine line with this under Rex and while they were winning that's fine but as soon as doubt starts to creep in watch out.

This is the exact reason I would never want Rex as a head coach. The best the team can ever do is to live up to his yapping........it's not possible to overachive! It's not possible to excel!

It seems like you lump every fan into having the same thinking about the Jets. Not every fan is bashing Holmes, but only some are. For example, I know Jets fans who did not want to bring in Holmes from the start, but didn't speak up much when the Jets were winning. Now they come back to tell me that this is exactly what they feared. Its not like those people were ever saying that they liked Holmes' attitude and flip flopping in their position.

Also, I am beginning to get tired of how some posters here crucify others' opinions because it is different than their own. Especially calling someone who says anything negative about the Jets a SOJF or putting them down in some fashion. Clearly there a some dumb posters out there, but I feel like this board is on average much more hostile than it has been in the past.

In the "Fireman Ed Monday Night Football" thread hes demanding people STOP giving Ed shit...because hes a superfan...who used to be a Dolphins fan by the way.

So I ask that he STOPS telling everyone what they think is wrong.

If you don't wanna hear negativity about the team don't read about them after they lose.

Sorry that I want my team's fanbase to not be a bunch of grumpy "the world is against us" whiners. Its just ridiculous. This is football, its supposed to be fun. I like to talk about the problems with the team thus far this year and how it can be fixed, and real football talk. Instead I look on the board and the top threads are about how Holmes needs to shut up and how we've had enough of fireman ed...WTF happened to us??? Has 3 losses really done this? We're the Jets boys, we can handle a few losses...

Or can we? Don't let the NY media affect the way you think this much. Its brainwashing. I don't read the sports section of those joke-papers because its absolute garbage. All I'm saying is that the thing I fear most is that this becomes a once again disgruntled fanbase, which would convert to the stadium tomorrow night (and in all future games this year) being DEAD, with absolutely no electricity...I don't want us to lose our home field advantage. At the end of the day, this is football, and no amount of bravado or whatever you want to call Rex's policy is gonna derail this team. The only thing that could truly derail this team is if we continue to lose in the trenches, which is exactly what Holmes was saying. Nothing he said was wrong. Did HE have to say it? NO! Of course not. But it had to be said by somebody.

Or come to a message board designed to talk about a football team. Sometimes they lose, and hey, people will talk about it.

Really? Maybe you should at least wait until your team has a winning record before bragging on winning in the playoffs, sweetpea.

Right now the Jets are tied with KC and Cleveland (yes, its true) and behind NE, Buf, Oak, SD, Pitt, Bal, Cin, Tenn, Hou with a loss to 3 of these latter teams.

Lose tonight, and they're also looking UP at KC and the Browns.

    AFC Championship!!!

Divisional games are always tough, even when one of the teams is struggling. The problem with taking on the Fish with a brand new QB is that the Jets don't have any film on Moore with them -- and coming off a bye, you can bet they've been working with him getting him ready.

Moreover, I've watched parts of a couple of Miami games, and they do NOT look to be in total disarray like Minnesota.

    A few facts for you:

Rex Ryan: 26-17 as Jets head coach

    Jets history:

1981: Started 1-3-1, finished 10-5-1, hosted playoff game
1998: Started 2-3, went to AFC Championship Game
    2000: Started 6-1, missed playoffs
2002: Started 2-5, won AFC East
2009: Started 4-6, went to AFC Championship Game

    Long way to go, peoples.

its a longggg season fellas. with a lot more football to be played... we will have our opportunities, not all of these teams will stay on pace...

needless to say, we are in a must win. a loss tonight really sets us back to an almost impossible playoff run.

so pissed the cowboys blew that game, a NE loss wouldve been huge last night.

im staying optimistic.. lets play like jets tonight.

cant wait to hear ppl say ohh well it was just the dolphins calm down lol

this right here, the only drawback to Rex's style and its starting to culminate into a shitstorm.

I jus find it funny how he looks like hes going to kill someone then non chalantly makes excuses and talks about past accomplishments.

Like I said, I'd LOVE to hear whats going on behind closed doors leading up to this game.

It still happened, and I left out a million more examples from other teams. It's what you do over 16 games, whether you do it early or late.
