That pic must be of a clean & jerk not a snatch. The red plates are 55# and the bar is about 45#. Depending on the weight of the collars, she's got between 265-275# over her head. I do Olympic Weightlifting recreationally and also coach it at a Beginner level. I am 185# and I must say, I would kill to be able to Snatch over 200#!! That girl is strong.
haha that was hilarious! and its all fun and games until she decides to take one of those plugs you have in your avatar out of the night stand... and she probably has good lateral movement if you try to run.
So THAT'S what muscle looks like....I was wondering why everyone was spending so much time at the gym
When I was a college student I knew a female shotputter by the name of Maren Seidler. By the time she was a senior she had won the US National championship multiple times and had been on two Olympic teams. Eventually she ended as a member of four US Olympic teams. She first set the US National record at age 13. She didn't look anything like Holley Mangold; she was 6'2" and weighed about 230. Shotput is not a sport of just huge physical strength, it takes a lot of agility to get the rotational speed needed for a good throw. Holley Mangold may turn out to be a fine weight lifter buy I don't see her competing on the national level in the shotput. http://enews.tufts.edu/stories/1171/2002/02/08/Olympics-Seidler
Well, apparently all 5'8, 374 pounds of Holley qualified for the Olympics. http://content.usatoday.com/communi...mangold-olympics-weightlifting/1#.T5Tq7KtSSnI
Congrats to her on making the Olympics, incredible achievement. Don't see the need to mock her, to be honest, it's just unpleasant.
