I get what Moore is saying but his comments are doing the same thing. Instead of going to the media complaining about him go to Santonio and talk to him.

"Receiver Santonio Holmes has made critical comments of the Jets' offensive line twice now, after the loss in Baltimore and again yesterday. Right guard Brandon Moore, the longest-tenured member of the Jets' line, has been bothered by his teammate's words.

"I'm disappointed," Moore said after practice today. "I've never had a teammate do that that I can recall. It's not really being a captain, a leader. It fragments. It’s not productive."

Holmes has called out the line's ability to protect quarterback Mark Sanchez this season and yesterday said the Jets can't throw the deep ball because of protection issues.
After the Baltimore game, Sanchez said the locker room was reminded to keep such criticisms "in house."

"Obviously, he’s got the green light to do that from somebody up top, the people that run the team or whatever," said Moore, a 9-year veteran. "He’s got the 'C' on his chest, and he can do that."

Holmes was selected by coach Rex Ryan as one of the team's five captains this season. Asked who might have given Holmes the green light, Moore said, "I don’t know. It keeps happening, so obviously it is OK."

Holmes said yesterday he was trying to avoid saying what he really felt, and he also did seem to acknowledge how difficult of a job the linemen have. But before the end of the interview, he said: "I think it starts up front, and the big guys know it. If they give Mark enough time to sit in the pocket and complete passes, I think everything changes."

Moore said he has not spoken directly to Holmes about his comments.
"We don't have any contact," he said.
Asked if the other linemen felt similarly disrespected, he said he thought so.
"I think it’s just upsetting and disappointing," Moore said. "A guy you play for every Sunday -- you know, you play for each guy on the team, he’s one of those guys you play for -- for him to do that is disappointing."

How fracturing can it be in a locker room? Moore didn't have any specific evidence but he knows there can be an effect.
"I think it can be," Moore said. "Whenever you’ve got a person on your unit that is publicly diminishing the job and work you put in, I guess it can have an effect."

I agree. Time for the Jets to close ranks, get together in a big room and have it out if need be, but shut the fuck up in front of the press. Only Rex and Sanchez talk to the press for the next three weeks.

Players pointing the finger at teammates in the media is so disappointing. Who cares if they're right or not? Shut up and play.

Yep. Moore is right, but taking it to the media doesn't help anything. Just makes it look more like a house divided.

It seems like there are some internal issues with this team. Santonio should have never been made captain. That was a stupid mistake by Ryan. Why do you think he's never been a captain before in his life?

How about showing a little respect for "fat ass big mouth" in other words the guy who's coached this team to its best two seasons in decades. You must yearn for the classy, quiet, nondescript days of Mangini, when we were so massively successful that we never even won a fucking playoff game.

Esiason is full of it. We're going to talk about the GIANTS keeping things close to the vest? LMAO!!! The Jets started the season with big expectations. The giants? Come on. Half the team is injured and they started the year with no expectations. Then they were lucky to even be in the game against Seattle - the whole team sucked ass so why would they be bothered to start pointing fingers in the media against each other after the loss?

Rex needs to speak with Santonio, (the entire team really) and tell them to quit giving the media column fodder. Who cares if he was right or not? Players shouldn't be repetitively spouting off to the media. Rex needs to get that message across by any means necessary

I guess the thinking was that giving him a C would, as it sometimes does, engender a greater sense of responsibility in the play. He just needs to be taught how to handle things a little better - there's no issue with what he said, just where and to whom he said it.

Who knew that the "C" on Holmes' chest stood for Cunt?

I hope everyone in the locker room gets real fucking angry and takes it out on the Dolphins.

I think the "C" patches were a stupid idea, we didn't have them the last 2 years. The players know who the leaders are, we don't need to see ugly patches. I think that patch made Santonio think he needs to speak up.

meat, nothing he said belittled the work that the o-line puts in ... and considering that NONE of you asshats knew the signal calls when mangold went down, maybe people should be doing just that

additionally, "publicly diminishing your job" would entail him speaking fallacies about you and your linemates current performance ... everything he said is true

The house doesn't look divided, it is divided. Medias or not it doesn't change what is happening and Ryan had better get it under control and quick. Of course this is what 3 game losing streaks will always do when you think you are going to the superbowl.
