An OL with 2 Pro Bowlers on it at C and LT that can't pass protect AND can't run block is pretty pathetic. Actually, it's pretty scary because most teams don't even have 1 Pro Bowl worthy OLer but still managed to protect their QBs fairly well. That says it ain't the OL. You might want to look at the offensive scheme or the QB or maybe both. Maybe your team needs a different blocking scheme that fits the players you have. Maybe teams have figured out what the Jets are going to do. Maybe they have no fear that Sanchez will -- or even can -- throw downfield, so they just tee off.
good point about the OL... in order of best to worst: Mangold=beast, best C in the game Ferguson=one of the best LTs in the game Moore=aging quickly but has the experience to be effective Slauson=young, with upside, seems capable (esp. because of C and LT help) Hunter=slow and dumb, huge letdown 3/5 are capable linemen at the present moment. Combine that with LT one of the best blocking RBs in the game, AND YOU CANT THROW IT DEEP EVER?
being sacked and poor OL do not always go hand in hand. Some guys get sacked b/c they wait for big plays to develop, sanchez doesn't have time for a 5 yd out to develop. Actually the Giant players had been talking big for years, obviously Coughlin wasn't but their players were a bunch of loudmouths who never backed anything up except for that fluky run in 2007. You do realize our AP C has been out most of the year, right? our RG also missed most of TC and we had a new RT. It's a work in progress that will be fine but it's been brutal the first month.
Fixed that for ya:smile: Actually, there is no evidence to indicate Ben was guilty of anything but poor judgement and stupidity. If you read the transcripts of the case in Ga. the girl was so drunk she could not stand up and she got that drunk by hanging out with and drinking with an NFL QB. It was said she was so drunk she wouldn't know if she was assaulted or not..................so hell..................why not accuse him and see if she can get some cash.
this post is beyond ignorant, but judging by most of your posts this comes as no surprise it doesnt become "media fodder like what is happening right now with the Jets" because, compared to ny, there is no media in pitt the idiocracy continues ... i guarantee you that ben will either settle or be found guilty in civil court "ITS GOT ELECTROLYTES!"
Lets get back to the topic on hand. Tone should have kept it in the locker room 100% agree, but what he is saying is correct as many have pointed out. I am glad he is pissed off. We are losing games. If no one was pissed I would be very scared.
Look, the real problem with Roethlisberger and this stuff is that nobody can believe that he is stupid enough to get drunk in a bar and assault somebody in the bathroom when he could just pay a grand to have a nice escort come over and do him in his home. He's got the money, right? So what that makes this all look like is that Ben Roethlisberger gets his kicks from going to a bar and finding some naive college student and getting her loaded and then taking advantage of that in the bathroom while his "bodyguard" stands outside to make sure nobody comes in and sees him doing the mad monkey on her. Seriously, the guy has a major behavioral problem and if he had it with your daughter you'd probably go after him with a baseball bat.
Sorry, sweetpea, but her drunkenness is no excuse for his bad behavior. He wasn't as drunk as she was, so he certainly knew what he was doing. In the "good old days", guys got away with that shit -- and more -- especially if they were wealthy celebs. Well, this is the twenty first century, not the nineteenth, and even pro athletes need to pay attention. BTW, a hunk of a pro athlete who can't get all the sober and willing women he wants isn't trying very hard.
Big Ben just needs to win another superbowl. As long as he has more rings then sexual assault charges all this will go away.
