He said that yesterday too. Funny how Woody, Faneca and Richardson are no longer playing and Thomas Jones is no longer effective.
The old adage says that it's much better to cut a player one year too early than one year too late. Tanny did well with those cuts. Replacing them is a whole other issue entirely.
dude, its not that theyre not playing anymore. The point is they werent replaced! Hes right. TAnnenbaum has lost all these guys to various reasons-they need to get replcements for these guys
True, but that's not the point he's been making or trying to make -- and if he is, then he's whiffing completely. He keeps mentioning how these players are gone and with their departure, so too went the team's toughness and identity. He's avoiding the fact that these guys are currently ineffective elsewhere, just as they would be here. He's not discussing their replacements, rather, how detrimental their departures have been (which isn't the case because, as you said, their lack of effective replacements is the real issue).
I hitnk hes either really stupid or hes not being clear about his point. Youre prolly right. Either way, as far as we are concerned, Tanny needs to replace these guys.
I don't understand how tough these players are supposed to be at 37 years old. Every player Tank listed in that rant was on the verge of retirement or already retired.
Exactly. And, again, just to piggyback what Johnnyd said, Tank should be giving Tanny credit for recognizing that these players were on the verge of being done which is why he got rid of them (and didn't hold onto them for too long). And if he wants to rip Tanny, then he should rip him for not finding suitable replacements for these players, NOT because he axed them.
Tank sounds all bent out of shape today because "Cuhbrareuh" got gunned down at the plate -- probably upset because his beloved Yankees will have lost to a team that got bounced in the ensuing round.
a lot of people calling his idea insane. he wanted to pinch run for cabrera AND martinez in the 8th. and apparently 9.9 out of 10 runners score on that ball. i know cabrera is very slow, but he was out by 10 feet. an average runner is out on that play. maybe even a tick faster. everyone knows that throw down the line is the easiest throw for an outfielder to make.
Haha yea, 9.9. Also, he's been exaggerating the depth at which that ball was hit. A fast runner probably does score there, but he's acting like it was hit to the warning-track (although he didn't actually say "warning-track" -- that's just the way he's making it sound).
Rex sed he can change playas to fit his teem! Everyone wanted to play fa Rex but he's a fraud! Da Jets aw bleedin' out if dey lose mondee night!
Caller: Mike, I can't believe this clown Marshall said he plans on fighting Cromartie and Bart Scott during the game on Monday night. What's this guy thinking!? Fatty: WAITASEKENT!! da Jets wahh given a gift in da schedule this week. they ah playin duh dolphins of awwl teams! LMAO. we were given a gift in the schedule making? we only just played a 3 game road trip in oakland, baltimore, and the patriots. i would hope we would have an easy game at some point during the season. i guess the jets are the only team given gifts in da schedule makings.
When the Jets are losing, the Francesa criticism doesn't hold alot of water. He's right in what he's saying today.
a caller calls up and says marshall has borderline personality disorder and francesa hung up on him for saying such a thing he knows nothing about. ummm fatty, it's a known fact. he was diagnosed with it.
Mushnick will slaughta Francesser for the latta killing a calla who correctly noted that Mawshall has a disowda.
