The Jags game is low because the Jets flooded ticketmaster with $15 uppers that people flipped on stubhub hundreds of times. There's no $15 offer for the Dolphins game because they had enough advance sales and there's no risk for blackout
ahh that makes sense. its still amazing to me to see lower level and mezz seats selling for lower than the jags though. i am absolutely amazed by it. i know that there are many fans who dont hate the dollfags the way that guys from my generation do but man, less than the jags.
1) The Dolphins haven't won a game yet. 2) It's a Mon night game. 3) Paying fans rather pay money to watch the Jets/Chargers 1pm Sun game which is only 6 days apart.
I think people are also wise to what happens at an obviously unsold Monday Night game. Why buy my UD Primes at $125 when they can buy the shittiest, lowest-priced UD Corner Row 26 EZs for $30 and then slide down into the Prime seats when Security gives up checking after the 1st quarter. Better yet, go on downstairs and slip into some really expensive sidelines when all the halftime traffic makes it impossible for Security to keep track of anything! The stadium will be full of enpty seats and Security, quite frankly, doesn't give that much of a damn who sits where as long as threre's no trouble.
Used to be, a Season Ticketholder was someone of stature. There was a waiting list back then. To get seats, you had to know somebody or pay at least face. StubHub came along and made it easier for the hookup. But through even the worst of the seasons, you could always say, "Hey, I'm a Jets Season Ticketholder" and you'd at least get the respect and admiration for sticking with them. Okay, so it wasn't always face if you had to bail. In fact, you took a hit in many seasons, but you always held out the hope "this would be the year." And you still announced proudly, "Hey, I'm a Jets Season Ticketholder!" Everything is reversed now. You're a fucking mark if you tell people you bought Jets Season Tickets. "Did you pay for that stupid PSL?" they ask. "Well, no, I didn't, there's no PSL in the Upper Deck" he answers. "Yeah but, I heard the view from the Upper Deck isn't so great up there, no?" To which he replies, "Well yeah, the view from up there is kind of out there." My point is, there ain't no prestige anymore in claiming that you "own" Season Tickets. And that goes for whateverthefuck section you're in. If you say you're in the lower bowl, people already know you paid a ridiculously ludicrous price for a PSL with a ridiculously ludicrous price for the tickets every year. You are a fucking sucker... sorry to tell you so. And if you say you're in the Upper Deck, people already know the views suck... and yes, you're still a fucking sucker... sorry to say. No escape. There's no prestige anymore. In fact, you're most likely looked upon as someone who "bought at the top," somebody foolish enough to buy into any market when all indications are that it has reached it's pinacle. A sucker. A mark. People who fell into "We'll kick their ass" and "We're goin' to the SuperBowl." "Oh yeah, let's buy this PSL. We're goin' to the fuckin' SuperBowl honey. This shit is gold." Look up "mark" in the dictionary and the PSL Holder's name appears. Unfortunately, and for reasons mentioned, there's no more pride in owning Season Tickets. At least, it's not like it used to be. There's only the realization that you paid a hell of a lot of money for something of little value (that can be purchased on SH for $.50 on the dollar and Cherry-Picked no end) and unless you use every freaking ticket you take a tremendous loss. I'm very sorry to say that any Season Ticketholder is a loser. Anyone can buy tickets at any time to any game and at any price they so choose. There are no benefits to "Season Ticket Ownership." They took that all away with the new regime.
Dude there's not a single seat above the 10th mezz row that could even remotely be considered "prime"
I can't figure out what kind of moron it takes to declare Rows 16-26 in 313, 314, 338 and 339 "Prime." Yeah, it's on the 50, but Good Lord, you are way the hell up there. The only decent "Prime" seats are Rows 1-4 and even at that, they're hardly worth $125 a pop. If we hit the skids this season the whole thing unravels anyway. Uppers will be abandoning in droves. Lower PSL people will be trying to unload. It'll happen over time and may take years to unravel, because most fans don't want to let go easily. So they'll take the pain of paying for the expensive no-show seats for a number of seasons until they finally realize they've got to have their heads examined. I know, I've been doing it for 27 years now and still haven't had mine examined.
Wow, have not been reading this post for a couple of weeks. The wheel goes round and round I guess. Damm, why can't someone who can afford to pay for PSL's lay off those who can't or won't? I don't understand the hate for the non PSL people, maybe because we flaunt our ability to say FU to Woody and the Jets WHEN, not if, this team goes into the usual 2 year tailspin. 227, I also know someone who has 4 tickets for the Giants high up in the UD and 4 in the 10K area. He's never been to the UD, I told him to go sit there and he might appreciate his 10K's... for a moment. I tell you, I don't feel like going Monday night, if I just eat them, I can live with it. That's another great thing, I am only losing on the ticket. Why can't the game be at 1pm on Sunday. Sick of the night games, home and away already. I think this is the first as a STH, that I have been home 4 Sunday's in a row without missing a game. I don't think I could stay home for 16 weeks, I love going to the games ( Sunday) and then staying home another week. Nice balance.
That's what happens when you're America's team. Jets make for good TV, with Rex's big personality and all the controversy that swirls and the usual last second comeback victories. The networks love to feature the Jets because of the ratings so they'll book us for Sunday or Monday night whenever they can
Yes, I totally agree. I blame it on the bravado. It all started with Hard Knocks and the "kick your ass" stuff and all of a sudden, we hardly have any nice 1PM kickoffs. Night games up the whazoo because their ratings are higher. If we should go into a tailspin, all of a sudden next year it's gonna be like, "The Jets? Oh no. Who TF is going to want to watch the Jets on MNF? No, no... schedule the Ravens and Pats instead."
I love the night games. Maybe it's just me. It's better to be in back to back AFC Champ games and playing night games than be 8-8 and playing 1 pms every Sundays. Plus I enjoy having a longer tailgate and partying harder.
MNF Jets vs Dolphins Tickets, section 343 row 2 selling for 9 dollars each ticket on Stubhub right now. For anybody looking to go, there are great deals to be had on Stubhub.
Maybe this win will pick up the prices a bit, but I think all these night games in particular is the main thing killing the resale prices.
The only losers are the people that paid 10k for PSL's, I would feel like a schmuck. I get the same questions, give the same answers and get the same looks as you stated so the prestige is definitely gone but then I tell them I have been going for 32 years. That's gets me a look like... how could deal with this team that long...you are hard core, but yes, any Joe Blow can join the club. Used to private.
