    People must know by now if you are a Jet you better not say the wrong word ever..see Kendall, Jones, Washington, and now Mason and I am sure many others I am forgetting too.

    I always liked Mason even when he was with the Titans and Ravens, guy seemed to be a work horse and hard nosed. There must have been something to the trade that we can't see either a rift or rifts w/ Schotty, Tanny, or Rex.

    Kerley def deserves a shot at the #3 with the work he has put in on special teams. Honestly I'm content with the receivers we have.

    As for TJ I think he is a good receiver but there is a reason he is still a free agent. If he was 100 percent and ready to rock he would be playing somewhere.

    Cotchery and Edward have a combined 4 catches for 48 yards. Yes, they are both terribly missed.

    And Juliio Jones has certainly put the Falcons over the top this year with Ryan running for his life behind a porous line. The Jets would be better served firing Schotty and using the first round pick on a pass rusher or a RT or a safety who could actually cover somebody.

    Not that it improves the situation much but... maybe a sign that Payne is on his way back from his injury?

    I was just thinking about that... with the Jets having interest in another big back (Polite) we might "move" JMcK to a kind of slot WR role... would make sense.

    Keep in mind the Steelers have Wallace, Ward, Sanders & Brown... not easy to get playing time with all those guys (who BTW also know the system better than Cotch).

    + Pitt doesn't pass as much as Green Bay...

    This is a good move just because it allows Kerley to get some playing time.

    he must have been too much of a distraction behind the scenes. We never should have let Cotch go, I don't care if he wanted out or not.

    Why would you keep a player that didn't want to play on the team? That's not good for the locker room.

    Except that Ochostinko's always been a headache for the Bengals in the locker room and apparently hasn't said a peep yet in NE despite getting the ball much less. So while Ochostinko and Mason have both cratered, one guy went from being a locker room issue to not, and the other guy went from being a choirboy to the biggest whiner out there.

    Why, so he could add to this team what he has for Pittsburgh? He will be home on the couch next year..good they dumped him when they did.

    I don't think Cotch would have caused problems, he's not that type of guy. he had problems last year and wanted out, did we hear about him whining?

    he'd be much more valuable for us for 2 reasons;

    1) we don't have the depth at WR that Pitt has
    2) Cotch was a respected leader in that LR

    My thoughts exactly. I think we misused Mason severely (that's a Schotty staple) but it's not like he had a future with us past this season. Kerley looked better in one game than Mason did in 4. We might as well get something in return for a guy that won't be on our team next year, even if it is a 7th round pick.
