What makes you think Brandon Weeden, Ryan Tannehill, Nick Foles, or Kirk Cousins will be a better NFL QB than Sanchez??? Sanchez has way more talent than all of these players you mentioned. All of these College QBs haven't even sniffed the NFL yet. Kirk Cousins makes some of the most boneheaded decisions I've ever seen. Sanchez is the Jet QB and has the full support of management.

Greg McElroy in year 2 of the system is better than all of those QBs besides Foles....and Foles will cost the Jets a 2nd or 3rd round pick to take him. And with needs at WR, OLB, RT, S and O-Line Depth, I will punch my TV screen and shatter it if we use a top pick on a project QB.
If he comes in ballooned in weight and not caring than you are right but I can see him giving his A effort come that time and get some scouts wowing. STL or JAX would be very interested I would imagine.

I'm warming up to BJ Cunningham. The guy definitely shows up in the big games -- 12 for 158 vs ND, 9 for 154 vs Ohio State and 6 for 102 last night vs Wisconsin. If you're talking 3rd round pick,.....I'm listening. Can he crack the Tier 2 WR pool of the 2012 draft? --- i.e. Ryan Broyles, Dwight Jones, Mohammed Sanu, and Jeff Fuller.
WWS...I'm glad Cunningham is getting props. He's one of my "must have players" for the Jets. Cunningham's stock is on the rise, since Michigan State is throwing the ball and Cousins has looked somewhat better. I'm going to be the biggest Cunningham to the Jets supporter all the way till the draft. If the Jet's go defense in rd 1, Cunningham could be an option in mid/late rd 2. The combine will determine where he's drafted, he's not the fastest player in this class. The depth of the WR class, Blackmon, Jeffery, Floyd, Fuller, Broyles, Sanu...etc, will keep players like Cunningham, D. Jones & Toon in Rd 2 or at worst 3. I like the way Cunningham attacks the ball and is physical making the catch. He's not the same size, a couple of inches taller, but Cunningham reminds me of how Hakeem Nicks attacks the ball and catches with his hands. I went to a few of Cunningham's High School games in Central Ohio and he's a player that Ohio State wished they signed.
Even though I would love Mike Floyd in round 1, I am convinced the Jets are going for OLB in Round 1. If so, if we get Cunningham in round 4 maybe, that would be amazing. He impressed me vs ND and I like what I see. Solid No.2 WR IMO.
Even though Plax had a great day, the Jets still need to look for that Red Zone target for their 2012 roster, so don't rule out a WR in Rd 1. If Floyd is available in late Rd 1, I wouldn't hestitate to draft him. I agree, I believe the Jets are going to go OLB at this point in Oct. Don't sell Cunningham short, he's turning heads and is at worst a Rd 3 prospect and may go in late Rd 2. Some of these scouting reports of players on certain sites are way behind in their evalations. Multiple 100 yd games get's the scout's attention.
Sanchez proved when he gets time to develop a play he can make throws. did you see those throws to Plax and Kerley......did you see that TD to Holmes, though it didnt count, you cant say a college kid is better or will be better than a pro unless its a given like Luck and even then you never know. Most times QB's are only as good as their receivers and their line its rare most QB's can be elite with either. Rodgers got no respect until Green Bay started protecting him
I honestly wonder what becomes a bigger need for the Jets next season if we dont re-sign Plax? If we are show casing a roster of 1. Holmes 2. Kerley 3. Turner 4. Payne 5. S McKnight does WR become a bigger need than OLB? Im hoping we make a splash for a solid wideout like Colston, Manningham, or maybe even bring back Braylon but if we dont I honestly wonder what this franchise views as a bigger need in the first.
Rodgers had time to develop, and plays on a very good team. No QB coming out of College is a lock to succeed. IMO, Sanchez has a much higher ceiling than Brandon Weeden, Ryan Tannehill, Nick Foles, or Kirk Cousins. I don't buy the theory a QB is a good as his receivers. Good receivers are important, but if you're a good QB you find a way to get it done. The most important trait a good QB has is the what's going on inside his head. A great QB has the ability to process what he sees in an instant and make the play. Physical ability is important, but if you Brain isn't wired to be a QB, it doesn't matter.
