If so, that's a pretty big suspension of disbelief. What kind of hospital doesn't have any security cameras?
Gus did the one thing that could kill him; lose track of how deep below moral ground a desperate man will dig. I guess you could also say, Gus' gluttony for torture also was his demise. The cartel cripple had no business living that long. It was like in the movies when the bad guy keeps the good guy alive and divulges his evil scheme, completely missing out on ample opportunities to kill the good guy, then the good guy escapes and foils the bad guy's shit.
Not that big. Gus has people. He had made numerous visits to the guy there, with Hank breathing down his neck. If it was not a safe place for him to go, he wouldn't have been going.
Walt had Saul poison Brock. That is the real reason Saul wanted to get out of town until things resolved themselves. Saul had been bringing payments to Jessie's girlfriend giving him the opportunity to give the kid a treat with the poison in it. His bodyguard switched the cigarettes as well. ----------------------------- If I were Walt, I would seriously consider having someone burn down Gus's house and possibly the resturaunt as well before the DEA comes for a visit.
Anywhere that has patients reliant on the care of nurses and prescription drugs/other medical supplies that can be stolen will have cameras. I assume that the writers will come up with some explanation (Gus paid someone to disable the cameras, Walt came up with a good cover story for why he was visiting Tio, etc.,) but just pretending that Tio happened to live in the world's least secure nursing home would be pretty underwhelming.
Even if they don't have cameras. I'm sure the visitors have to sign in or at least announce they are there. So you can fake a name, but when the Police arrive to investigate the crime scene, they are going to ask the nurses/workers questions like, "did you notice anyone unusual?" Yeah we saw a bald white guy we've never seen before and then the explosion happened. Think flags will go up? A woman from a nursing home was able to get the DEA on the phone? Local Police departments can't even get noticed by the FBI for help sometimes. Listen, I'm the world's biggest critic for inconsistencies (I.E. in action movies I always find myself pointing out the clip in the gun only holds 15 rounds and he's fired 83, or in Sons of Anarchy when the guys have been arrested, charged, and convicted in California more than 3 times for the same crimes when California has a 3 strike rule and it's life in prison). But the writer's for Breaking Bad are pretty attuned to "plausible reality".
OK, I've heard a lot about this show, so I finally just watched the first episode on Netflix. Really good. Too bad they bleep out the cursing, but not a huge deal. Looking forward to catching up with everyone else.
Not to spoil anything and not to be a broken record, the first season and a half are very good. The latter half of the 2nd season is great. Seasons 3-4 are epic, epic as in top show ever, epic. So be patient if the series starts off a little slow, the payoff is fantastic.
These wrap party pics are awesome. The one with Jesse as his girlfriend is fucking creepy. Here's a slightly less hideous Skylar:
