Gus threatened his family...He said he was going to kills his kids.

He cant even hide his wife, or hide his kids.

He had to do anything possible to save his family. At least he did not ricin the little kid Brock.

Still, I really wonder if Gilligan was to go the transformation route of Scarface or give some sort of protagonist situation with Walt in the final season

Except Walt doesn't even really care about his family at this point, what does he say to Skylar at the phone at the end, "I won" not you're safe or everything is going to okay etc. Walt has always been an ego maniac but he really went over the deep end these last few episodes, he only cares about himself.

Walt is definitely going to be the bad guy in the last season, both with Hank investigating him and Jesse eventually finding out about Brock. Saul is not exactly the guy you want to be involved with and keeping your life and death secrets.

It will probably start in the summer and then finish in the winter. I could see the first half ending in October and starting again in January.

...unless AMC wants to draw it out to make more money.

If you guys read that interview that Puck posted, it sounds like Jonathan Banks (Mike the Fixer) will be back.

Sepinwall also asked Gilligan about Mike coughing a lot this season. Gilligan wouldn't give him a clear answer. Wouldn't it be great if Walt runs into him at the hospital?

    Same here.

With the way that these writers work, they'd probably drop a bomb in the first half finale...then the viewers' minds would be stewing over it for months.

He told Skyler everything was over and that they were safe.

AMC only let Darabont and Kirkman make 6 episodes of The Walking Dead because the network wasn't sure people would like it...

If I remember correctly, AMC renewed it for a second season hours after the pilot episode.

Do you guys think Gus' computer with all of the video footage will mean anything in the 5th season? He shut it right before he went to nursery home.

    It's a possibility.

Walt and Jesse may use Mike to clean up the mess they've made.

Yes, there is usually no wasted info in the show. They give info be it background or characters actions etc etc and it almost always come back to roost later on in another episode or season.

Mike may tell them to go fuck themselves. He's been loyal to Gus all the way through, I'm not sure what he'll think of Walt and Jesse taking him out.

I do think that Hank will figure out that Walt is Heisenberg early in the next season; how could he not? Someone (probably the old lady who lived next door to Tio) will be able to ID him at the old folks home, and there's probably video footage of Walt and Jesse at the laundromat. Plus, Hank should be able to disprove Walt's alibi easily.

I think that Walt will be the villain next season; by the end of the show's run it will merely be a question of who takes him out first: Hank or Jesse?

Mike is on the security camaras just as much as Walt and Jesse. He'll want to assist with the cleanup.

I doubt they consider that old lady a reliable witness.

It would have been beast if instead of walt saying "I won" *fade to black*

Walt says "I knocked" *fade to black*

Even if not, I assume that the old folks home has security cameras that will show Walt visiting Tio shortly before the bomb went off (and I'm sure that Hank will be fixated on finding out who would rig Don Salamanca with a bomb to kill Gus Fring.)

While we're on the subject, how the hell did Walt manage to poison Brock without anybody noticing?

Maybe the cameras aren't recording anything

Finished watching the finale and then I thought I had to see e12 again...

...it's amazing how Walt managed to manipulate Jesse. The whole scene is incredible. Now I'm even sure that Walt wasn't even risking anything because -most likely- the gun wasn't even loaded since the gun used by Jesse to threaten him was the gun that Walt left himself on the couch.

In the end I was indeed surprised, that last shot at the lily of the valley was great. The music was great too.
