i think the abuse our D took yesterday may help us this week... call me crazy but i have a lot of faith in Rex... he takes everything personal and is going to make sure these guys are ready next week... we've seen him come back from a few big let downs since he's been here and i dont think hes near done... i know its tough to stay positive but the guy is not stupid.. he will make the necessary adjustments and work it out... rex IS a winner... something we're not used to lol

Crisis is over the top. And on the numbers, it was only one loss. It is also true the Jets could win both of their next games. And that even a split leaves them at 3-2.

But were it not for Romo's bad play, the Jets would be 1-2, and the next two are both tough road games. OL depth has been there all along as an issue; now we are seeing the basis for those concerns right in front of our face. The D just gave up 250 yards rushing. How can you not be concerned about that? Sanchez has thrown 4 INT's and not looked sharp at other times.

I think it fair to say the hope has been around here that the team that made it to the Champ Game the last two years might make it to the SB with some tweaks. Tweaks were made, but...

    The hope was:

That the D would continue to play as well as the last two years. Yesterday, they were pushed around.
Sanchez would show significant maturity and improvement in year three. So far, not so much.
Wilson, Smith and Leonhard would play marginally better, showing improved secondary play alongside Revis and to a lesser extent Cromartie. So far, the key is "marginal".
Wilkerson would step in without missing a beat for Ellis. Instead, not a factor yesterday.
Hunter's transition from Woody would be seamless. It has been anything but, and the OL overall is in decline.
Greene would also take over as a productive #1 RB. NOt yet.

Well, it's only three games, but there is reason for concern, imo.

    2 #s that should calm fears:grin:

In EVERY year rex Ryan has coached(all 2 of them) we have been 3-1 every time.

This game is on NBC, since NBC got the SN package in '06 we have NEVER lost a game going a mindboggling 5-0(vs. Cincy '09, at Cincy playoffs, at Miami '10, at Indy playoffs and vs. Dallas '11).

There is no way we can lose this week w/ all this history on our side:smile:

Wouldn't the foot thing have been the team's first crisis? Or the Sanchez color coded arm-band thing? Or the Revis holdout?

Losing one game sucks, but crisis? Hopefully Mangold's ankle appreciated the time off and he'll be back by Sunday. I'm not sure how this helps our D, but we might be able to run up the middle again and Sanchez will have more than 2 seconds to throw. We'll be fine. We'll either beat BAL or NE. Probably both. We're a good team.

Keep calm & carry on, etc etc.

Post like this is why I don't come on here anymore. To many dumb asses. One lose and a lot of you act like we should just forget the rest of the season.

Could not have said it any better myself. I do think Sanchez has shown some more maturity and improvement, but not as much as we were hoping for. The rest of it, you're spot on.

Junc ...superstitious are we?.........LOL. Well I have a feeling that as bad as the Jets looked yesterday (and they have had lots of problems in Oakland over the years except '09) they will look much better Sunday night. Rex's Jets always play better as underdogs...just a feeling.

I don't get this "if not for Romo's bad play we'd be 1-2" nonsense. Romo was the starting QB on the opponent. If he caused his team to play worse than we did, that's the game. Could just as easily say "if not for McFadden's great play we'd be 3-0".

    Woulda coulda shoulda.

Also, we could be 2-3, but who cares. The season would still not be over, we could even lose to San Diego or Miami and go to the bye 3-4 and the season would still not be over. What is the point of following the sport if anything short of perfection makes you angry? What enjoyment do you get?

If this is the first crisis, what was the blowout loss on MNF to the Pats & followup loss to Dolphins last year??

I guess it would be easy to say that if you didn't watch the Dallas game.

    I did.

Because if the Jets go to 2-3 it will be that much more difficult for them to get better playoff seeding this year. You don't caer about that? Are you not a Jet fan?
