Maybe some jets fans here were but none of the people I would consider knowledgeable were even batting an eye at being in first after two weeks. As far as our fans making big predictions for the season we at least have a base of success the last two years to expect 10+ wins. The bills have about a decade of being irrelevant. Gonna take more than a couple nice wins for people outside of bills fans to see them as real. Be happy with the early success but stop acting baffled that no one else cares. Get back to us in November.
So what about the past decade? That's over and done with. Nothing can be done about that except to move on, something that you just can't do. Keep laughing and not expecting much. It'll make it that much sweeter.
Again, enjoy the success. Get back to us in November when the bills are still relevant. Until then nobody besides bills fans will care. Keep looking for something to take offense to. I haven't laughed at the bills or even said anything bad about them. All I have said about the bills is 3 games doesn't mean much.
The Jets actually got to the AFC championship game last season, while the Bills were practicing their short-game.
i didnt say shit about the best in the AFC week 2. thats a handful of clowns. i do think the bills are a good .500 team though. and ok i will keep laughing. i hope fred jackson is reading this, and feeds off what i'am saying lol.
Again, that was last season. The Bills were bad last year, I'm not denying that. This year they are playing damn inspired football. Maybe not they way I would draw it up, but they have far more guts than you are giving credit. You are also blaming this current crop on the failures of players who are far from gone with that organization, led by GM's and HC's who are also far gone from the past decade. Chan has been there 1+ year. The prior years have nothing to do with Chan. Nothing.
Just came back for this thread specifically. I gave the Bills no chance, good job. NE does have the worst defense in the league, Oakland is 28th, and KC 23rd. I know we lost in a game we should not have. I think the Bills are doing great things right now, on offense. Despite our issues we're still 11th and that will be improved. Bills got a bye this week in Cincy so 4-0 it is just like your 7-9 2008 season. Bills 26th ranked D will have issues against a good defense, especially a good pass defense. I'm not sold on them being a contender this year but definitely in the years to come. I see you like the Lions last year, except you have a 7 year QB not a yoot. Thanks for beating the Pats, I just wish we didn't waste the opportunity.
Offensively I agree 100%. Just like I said above, when you finally face a top tier defender you'll be screwed with your D.
Something you won't see from the stats from todays game was the great snap count that drawed the Eagles offsides to ice the game at end. "Blue 60 Blue 90 HUT HUT" Other then that, not a very impressive day from Fitz, he had great protection all game and badly missed on some of his incompletions. Again we were fortunate there were not more interceptions. We can't get away with dumping the ball off to Jackson (190 all purpose yards today) on screens every game.
Or giving up 500 yards. You have to thank your lucky stars for this game and the NE game. Both games, the ball was bouncing all over the place for ridiculously right place/right time interceptions.
Agreed. Edwards is not a great DC. But to be fair, we were without Terrence McGee and Aaron Williams in those games. But I'm not going to discredit our D-line either, if they can't pressure the QB they do a great job of getting their hands up to deflect the ball. 2 picks resulted from that today.
Good to see our LB's get some pressure on Vick today. Merriman had a sack and Moats and Sheppard had pressure/qb hits that caused interceptions. Dareus barely missed a sack as well. Not a great game by any stretch, but still a decent performance against a desperate and talented Philly team. On to the Meadowlands...hope we get Bad Eli
Maybe they were bouncing all over the place becuase we got pressure on Vick and got our hands up to deflect passes. All the turnovers we forced, we forced on our own.......no luck was involved.
Gutsy win for your squad yesterday. Loved how much punisnment Vick took out there. I'm more supprised at how well you dfense has come together than by your offensse, which I thought would be getting better. A good young Oline and a real leader at QB has done wonders for you so far this seaosn. If that D can keep coming up with big plays things are going to get real interesting in novmeber and december.
Merriman, Bell and Jones are out against the G-men. Looks like we may be w/o Kyle Williams as well. Giants are w/o Tuck, Jacobs, Hynoski, and Snee. No definitive word on their Center (Baas) yet, either. Both these teams get a MUCH-needed bye afterwards.
Bills stepping up this year makes the AFC east a real beast of a division. They're playing above their means though, just like the Jets are much more talented team than they're showing so far. Makes the rest of the year interesting though for reals.
He may get paid? " The Buffalo Bills and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick have made significant progress toward a multiyear contract in the past two weeks, league sources said Thursday, and hope to have it resolved shortly. Talks resumed in earnest following the Bills' Sept. 25 victory over the New England Patriots, and the sides have been exchanging proposals since. The goal was to strike a deal during the bye week, but the Bills have closed their building through the weekend, essentially closing for business until next week, league sources said. So, talks will resume as soon as Monday, with a resolution possible soon thereafter. Fitzpatrick's deal is expected to average about $10 million per season, but the sides still were trying to resolve issues such as guaranteed money (the Bills traditionally keep those figures relatively low). As long ago reported, Fitzpatrick has been Buffalo's priority, and the team has tabled contract talks with wide receiver Stevie Johnson and running back Fred Jackson until a deal is struck with the quarterback, who has flourished in second-year Bills coach Chan Gailey's offensive system. Fitzpatrick, who has led the suddenly-explosive Bills to a surprising 4-2 start this season, is earning a base salary of $3.1 million in the final season of a three-year, $6.9 million contract. He has completed 134 of 202 passes for 1,477 yards and 12 touchdowns with six interceptions this year, his third in Buffalo after two with the Cincinnati Bengals (2007-08) and two with the St. Louis Rams (2005-06)."
