    Jets draft:

Brandon Jenkins..I really tired to get a OT/RT in Round 1, but it didn't work out. I went with another major need...Rush OLB.

Kelechi Osemele is a mountain of a man that projects by most as a Guard in the NFL, but can play RT. Was injured with a bad ankle and it could hurt his stock and fall to the Jets in Mid Rd 2. Underrated player that could start at RT in 2012. Very Athletic and an excellent runblocker.

BJ Cunningham, watch Big Ten games, one of the most productive receivers in the Big Ten this year. Could be an excellent #2 WR.

George Bryan, good size and has good blocking skills and decent hands. Depth needed to our TE group, since Keller is more or less a slot receiver.

Josh Oglesby, OT...Wisconsin has a great track record for good O-lineman, solid depth.

Rishard Matthews, WR......A very productive WR out of Nevada's excellent offense. Similar size to Cunningham, more depth needed .

Sean Baker, S..........A Safety I'm very high on out of the Mac. A true ballhawk. Reminds me of a physical Kerry Rhodes.

I guess its Mocktober huh? Hahaha.

I'll start with my comments about the Jets draft first.

Obviously pass rusher is a big need and I love the pick of Brandon Jenkins he would be a great addition to the LB core for sure. So I completely agree with the pick there.

Next Im not in love with the Tackle you chose in the second, only because the way your draft went wouldnt players like Reynolds, Wagner, Potter, Adcock, and Mike Adams still be available? I mean of course they might be all picked by the time the Jets pick but I would hold out hope that at least one would be there.

The WRs you chose are spot on and hold great value, Cunningham would be a great addition as well as Matthews but with the Jets picking two WRs are you saying the sign another too be #2 until Cunningham is ready like Plax or another FA?

Just watched some tape on Baker and he seems like am excellent center fielder, with time id love to see what Rex could do with him.

All in all id really like this draft if it were to play out with way come April for the Jets.

Now for your first round mock, I hate that the Dolphins get Luck but its starting too look more amd more obvious they are dumping the season for him.

I have an issue with the KC pick, I just don't see them picking trent. He's a great prospect but this is Charles first injury and he will be back for next season, I think in that situation they are better off drafting Martin, putting Albert at RT, and getting a RB later on.

Another issue I have is that I don't see the Cowboys skipping over Gilmore or Dennard, they are dying for a corner and both could come in for them and be solid.

Last question I have for you is with the way the Packers passing D has sucked since losing Collins and with the risk of him being less then what he was do you think they take a look at Robert Lester in the first?

Other then that great job as always WW85.

    Appreciate the comments.

As far as the Jets draft, I desperately wanted Reiff in Rd 1, but couldn't see him falling to #18, especially with the Bears in dire need of O-line help. Jenkins was my best bet.

Kelechi Osemele is a slight, "not the norm" pick. I wanted to give some of you guys something to think about with my rd 2 choice. He really has the skill to possibly be a Rd 1pick. I've watched some tape on Osemele and I believe has the perfect size and skill to play RT. He's playing LT this year and looks out of place. Hurt his ankle last week and may miss some games.

BJ Cunningham is one of my favorite players in this draft, he is so consistent and looks like the perfect #2 WR. I don't expect Mason to be back and Plax is still up in the air. Even if we draft 2 WRs, don't be surprised if we don't bring in a FA. Kerley is probably only going to be a spot WR (4 wide), since he's so important on Teams.

My Round One mock, I set up a board of my top 50 players and went thru draft pick by pick. It was tough at times, and I can't say I'm an expert on all 32 teams needs, I think I hit a good amount.

I almost went CB with Dallas, but Crick's value and good fit on their line made me take him.

Thomas Jones is a goner, and Charles has a history of injuries, so Richardson was my choice. It was a tough spot, I might have gone QB, if the top 3 weren't gone, since there may be a coaching change at the end of the year. The Bengals would have loved Richardson falling to them.

Packers....I just love Brandon Thompson's skill for their defense.

Reiff would be an awesome addition, the Bears most likely will go Oline early but If somehow a stud WR is there like Floyd I think they take him and then go heavy on Oline picks in the 2nd and 3rd.

Havent seen much of him so I appreciate the insight on him, I think there will be better OT's on the board when the Jets pick but after I see some more of Osemele I think I could take him into consideration for one of those top level tackles.

Cunningham would be a great pick in the third as I said in my previous post but now that I think about it do you think if the Jets let go of Plax they look for a WR to draft that has more blocking ability? Not saying Cunningham cant but they Jets are always looking for that impact blocker at #2 WR for the run game as of late (i.e. Plax and Braylon). Can Matthews block well? And what later round WRs do you think would be solid blockers as well as players? I think first of Greg Childs but he has been up and down this season so im unsure of him. Just wanted your opinion.

Cricks value there is great, I will admit that but I think the Cowboys have passed up way too many solid corners as of late and they are getting killed through the air, and with a Ryan on board I could see them drafting multiple CBs.

With the Richardson pick are you saying he replaces Charles? Or does he simply provide a great 1 2 punch for the Chiefs? I think a mid round bruiser like Montee Ball or one of my favorites Vick Ballard would be a great short yardage back to complement Charles more than replace him.

Also, there is no doubting Thompson's skills so I get your point, they need a solid player to replace Jenkins so improving that DLine would be a good Idea. But that secondary should be worry some to them, we will see what they need most at the end of the season.

Why would KC pick up another RB? Assuming Charles comes back with no complications

Thomas Jones is out of gas.

Dexter M is a third down situational back.

Charles hasn't shown he can stay healthy and Richardson would be an excellent compliment and need. KC might have a few more pressing needs, but I like the idea of upgrading KC's running game to keep their defense on the sideline.

The NFL is a 2 RB league, no RB can carry the entie load for 16 games.

The rookie pay scale makes Richardson very affordable and IMO, the BPA . Richardson's stock has been rising, he's a "do it all runningback".

    JTJ,

    Honestly, I haven't noticed Matthews blocking, he's a playmaker in Nevada's offense.

Cunningham is a physical receiver and isn't afraid to block. I would say resigning Plax is a 50/50 deal at this point in time. The Jet's O-line needs to get gong and Sanchez needs to start making plays, so I have to give Plax the benefit of the doubt, for now. We will know in a few weeks if Plax is worth signing in 2012.

Mason seems a few steps too slow and could even be hurting our offense.

Wouldn't want a blocking TE that early, but I love the rest.

Gimme a FS there instead and it's an A+

A blocking TE can really help our run game. We could use one right now. Mulligan is not getting the job done. We actually miss Hartstock.

Solid mock, for a draft we have most of our picks on you didnt make any luxury picks. I like the Jenkins pick, I thought prior to the season the he would be picked higher

Love seeing my boy Claiborne as a top 10 pick.

Also unless Indy gets Luck, I can't see them drafting a QB. I could see them grabbing Richardson and trying to get Manning a run game.

    - Can't see Blackmon going over Jeffrey. If Rams get ahead of the Jags, they will grab Jeffrey as I think he will tear up the combine. Much like AJ Green last year, he is a victim of shitty QB play.

    - Only way Indy takes a QB is if its Andrew Luck. Otherwise I think they stay clear of that and grab Johnathan Martin and then put Anthony Constanzo in his rightful place at RT and then begin to build up that O-Line that's old and getting pushed around.

    - I don't know if Robert Griffin is a Shanahan QB. He's a real playmaker and could be a Brad Smith esque type of player with a more live arm in the NFL but I think Shanahan wants a more pocket QB rather than a guy who scrambles and uses his athleticism to make plays. Better chance of seeing Nick Foles in round 2 for the Skins IMO. He fits the mold of what they are looking for. Skins can take Datko and put him at RT though, as Jaamal Brown can't be relied on and he looks shot after those injuries.

    - Charles got a big deal last offseason with Kansas City and while this injury is alarming, its not alarming enough IMO to use a top pick on a RB. Just not Polian's style. If anything this could be where Landry Jones falls to as Cassell is struggling and is having arguments constantly with Todd Haley. Jones can afford to sit a year and learn in KC and likewise as expected Todd Haley will probably be fired after this year and any new head coach would like to start their regime with a new QB at the helm.

    - Manti Te'o as a Bill would suck so bad but it would be a great move for them. Some would think OT would be the major need but its their ILB that they need to improve more.

    - Michael Floyd to Carolina would be a home run pick and Newton would love to throw to such a big target for the next coming years. Still its taunting me to see Jimmy Clausen on the bench and Floyd springing into action knowing the 2 and their chemistry and all.

    - Love the Jets pick. Jenkins brings the pass rush and with Bryan Thomas in his walk year and having trouble walking after last Sunday night's injury, we are going to need an OLB for the long haul. Jenkins will flourish under Rex Ryan.

Titans over the Jets in the playoffs sucks but I do remember Tenn having a really easy schedule so its possible.

Overall good job as usual WW85 and the fact you got me giving you so many pointers shows how much I enjoy reading your mock drafts.

He should hold out for another year rather than go after defensive minds like Rex Ryan, and Bill Belichick for the coming years. He's certainly bright.....

Still I can see Andrew Luck pulling an John Elway and hold out of signing with Miami until the Broncos give up the farm for him(Including Tebow which will make the Gator/Dolphin fans very happy and possibly sell tickets) and Elway gets his Stanford player.

Excuse me for expressing my opinion but, I would like to see the Jets draft either Brandon Weeden, Ryan Tannehill, Nick Foles, or Kirk Cousins in 2012. Sanchez has got talent, but the Jets need a QB that has more pocket presence, makes sound decisions with the ball, can better diagnose a defense. Yes, Sanchez has been outstanding in the playoffs but, the Jets have way too many 3 and outs. If we move the ball, kick more field goals, score more td's we wouldn't be scratching and clawing at the end of games to make a stop to win or get the ball back in crucial moments. Some of these games should be put away in the first half so we can punish them in the 2nd half with the ground game. I attribute almost all of our faults and shortcomings on offense AND defense to Sanchez. Don't even try to convince me or other Jet fans that we CAN' improve at the QB position.
