    @patsfanken
With your "defensive rankings," I know It may not make a big deal, but looking at how many touchdowns the team has given up isn't an indication of how much the defense has given up. I know for a fact (without looking up the other 3 games) that for at least 21 points, the defense wasn't even on the field for those scores this past week. While not a big deal, that'd make it at least 4 less touchdowns given up, just thought it'd be worth noting.
As for "shutting down" the Pats O, I personally wouldn't call it shutting down, but you guys put up 14 points and a garbage time TD with like a minute and a half. The D was largely in prevent for that empty drive. To me, for an O that averaged almost 34 PPG, thats pretty damn effective either way.
I too expect a close hard fought game, and Jets have their own issues, but lets not pretend the playoff game didn't happen how it really did and lets not minimize certain things. This week will be how divisional games should be: a close fought and tough game amongst familiar foes.

Being a pats fan requires creative use of selective statics to make a pointless point.

Here's one. Vince Wilifork is 2nd on the pats in interceptions.

Well Ken that certainly is a lot of tough talking you did there trying to twist things around and make the Jets seem nearly as pathetic as the Pats on defense. Which is something we all know to be incorrect.

You talk about the Pats not being shut down in that playoff game ken. Well perhaps you were unable to watch the end of the game through your tears ken, so let me refresh your memory, ken. Tom Brady and his offense had but a mere 14 points up until the very end when the Jets shifted to a soft coverage up by 2 touchdowns with under 3 minutes to play. I would call that shutting down, as it was less than half their usual output, ken.

Next, you seem to not totally agree that the Pats D is an abomination. Well they have the worst corner in the nfl statistically, ken. His name is Devin McCourty and he allows 7 catches for nearly 100 yards pergame on average. Furthermore, your best player wont be on the field, as he is injured. Contrary to your belief ken, it seems like a great time to get the run game (and pass game) on track if Mangold does indeed suit up to battle wilfork, ken. I mean the pats d sucked ass with him, how will they fare without him?

The jets had one bad performance against mcfadden that skews the numbers ken. Mjd, ray rice, and felix jones all did relatively little on the ground in the other games, so there is no reason to think the pats will run on the jets, ken.

While Wilfork is shutting down Holmes, do you think McCourty sill be on Burress?

This thread, from a certain standpoint, is kind of hysterical in a way. Two teams that both appear to have major, probably fatal flaws... the Patriots' ineptitude on defense is matched only by the Jets' impotence on offense.

Said it earlier, if the Patriots don't fix their defense, they're not going anywhere in January. Same for the Jets with their offense and their QB.

And with those two, he'd be tied for the team lead if he was on the Jets. Pats and Jets both have 6, so what's your point?

I think they'll offer Haynesworth a few mill more to see if he can suit up and nd play some safety. He can't be any worse, and he's not doing anything on the line this year.

The pats have two shit down corners.

Actually, I think we have been 2 lineman short of having a good offense due to injury. And it seems Mangold is coming back this week, so the other slot will be easier to fill. It's hard to evaluate a QB that is getting flattened on every play. If you look at our last head to head matchup, he did much better than your aging golden boy.

Herp derp derp, now post some stats herp derp derp.

Good to see Cromartie still thinks Brady is an asshole and Brady doesn't want to respond..but he doesn't mind running his mouth on the radio...haha.

"Antonio Cromartie, who called Tom Brady an a—hole last year, said that he loves the Jets-Patriots rivalry.
"Hopefully the word I said last year made it even bigger," Cromartie said. "I want to be a target every game. Honestly, I hope I get booed again. Those aren't my fans. My fans are here in New York.”

RT @ConorTOrr Brady was asked if he wanted to respond to Cromartie (who said today he still feels the same). "No, I don't," Brady said. #nyj

Clearly Wilfork is a freak of nature.

Yeah, Revis didn't get any INT's last year, so McCourty is better.

Shit- I posted a stat by saying how meaningless they are and the low reading comprehension crowd is all confused.

While it's always great to beat your top rival, I don't think even if they win this week they'd consider it revenge beating your rival a regular season game when that team ended their season last year....

...Revenge would be beating the Jets to keep them out of the playoffs or beating them in the playoffs. Neither can be accomplished this week. Way too much season ahead yet.

I would've agreed with you last January. Now, I don't see a great Jets team. All that hungry and revenge stuff comes from fans and not from the Pats.

Cromartie can't wait to get his hands on the Pats receivers, literally. Looks like they're not gonna let him hold on every play anymore, and his game is suffering. He's been less than shut down the last two weeks.
