I'm not that confident at all as a Patriots fan.

I think Sanchez and the offense will "get healthy" against the Patriots D, particuarly if Mangold plays. They tend to do that a lot these days for opposing QBs

I think there's a very good probability that Sanchez and his receivers will have a good game. How good will be a key to the game of course.

I think the Jets D matches up well against the Patriot offense and they know how to attack it. Will the Pats still move the ball, score etc? Probably but again how much and how many TDs.

Again if Hernandez is healthly I think that's big win for the Pats offense. Between Welker and Gronkowski and Branch (who can still run routes and catch the ball when open) having Hernandez out there will likely be one receiver too many even for the Jets D. I think Ocho is also getting better as well.

But the biggest reason I'm concerned is just the relative importance to the game for each team. I think the Jets really need a win here badly. A loss would be just terrible even this early in the season and a win would be a huge confidence builder. Sure the Pats want this bad too for a lot of great reasons but I wonder if the Jets are almost desperate to get a win here. I think they might be and usually the team that's the most desperate wins in a close game.

There's nowhere that says Woodhead is out for Sunday. He was not at the media portion of practice today. Neither was Hernandez or Vollmer.

The Patriots are going to be pretty damn fired up for this game, too. Possibly even more so. They want revenge, and they want it bad. That's what scares me the most.

I tried the reverse jinx last week:

    Didn't work.

    I'll say:

    Jets 24
    Pats 21

LOL! I'm not-so-secretly in a reverse jinx frame of mind this week, but never gave it voice until I read this.

Mike that's a lot of tough talk. Reminds me of what my old friend Bill Shakespeare once said. "full of sound and fury.....signifying nothing"

Lets take a closer look at what you said.

You said that you doubt that the Jets would "shut down" the Pats like in the Playoff game. Now most Jet fans conveniently forget that the definition of "last year's SHUT DOWN was 21 points. And maybe for team that averages over 30 points per game, giving up 21 points IS a "shut down". But you are right Mike the Jets ARE going to give up more.

You also said the Pats D was an "abomination" Well it very well may be, but you might find it interesting to note that the "abomination" has given up just ONE more TD than the Jets. And the team with ZERO pass rush has just 3 fewer sacks than the "mighty" Jets D. And to make my point further. The Mighty Jets defense has allowed a grand total of .7 fewer points per game, than the sorry assed Pats D

I'm sure Mangold is going to play this week, I'd be shocked if he didn't. Last week the Pats had 5 of their top 13 defensive players out for the game. At least 3 will be back this week.

Even with Mangold back, its NOT going to fix the Jets running attack, and if any of you think that will gain more than 100 yds this week, you are really in delusion mold. Rex's rant about going back to "ground and pound" was just that. Hot air. If the Jets are going to move the ball at all it will be through the air. I know it, you know it, BB knows it, and Rex knows it.

The Jets are 30th best team in rushing offense, playing the team that's 32nd in pass defense. Yup Mike, this sure does seem like the week to bring back "ground and pound"

I also found it interesting that you said "if the Jets can get their running game going, they are going to be in position to win". Tell me Mike, just what is the your basis of thinking the Jets will get their running game going. If the Pats do one thing decently on defense, its defend the run.

On the other side, what are the Jets going to do if the Pats get THEIR running game going. As of now the Jets run defense is almost as bad as the Pats pass defense. How are the Jets going to stop the 9th best rushing attack in the league when they are going to have to keep at most, 7 guys in the box.

You are right, it is likely to be a close game decided on which team can create the most turnovers. And like I've said before, i fully expect the Pats to hold serve at home. More the more telling game will be when the Pats play the Jets in NJ in just a few more weeks

The Jets are an overall better team than the Patriots and if they want to be their best in a week 5 game, well then bring it. Because the Jets will beat their best effort on Sunday.

Point is, there is little to be scared about this Patriots team. When they wanted to smack us around in their house months ago they couldint do it. So now because they are supposedly hungry, looking for revenge, the Jets must worry or you must be scared? Eh.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. The Jets may indeed beat the Patriots this week but nothing to be scared of?

Months ago is like years ago.

Yeah sure but I think the Jets are on the edge here. If they lose to the Pats or even worse get whomped, it could get ugly quickly. God knows the media and the fans will be understanding.

    Right.

On the other if they man up and win, their season is back on track.

If the Patriots lose, it's bad but still not the end of the world.

LOL. Ok. Little. I think their offense is very good and I think it will take an excellent effort on the Jets D part to stop them. Anything less and I think it could be a very nice Patrots win even with the crappy defense.

I've broken some of your more pointless points down by number.

    1. Are you really going to count the garbage time TD given up after the Jets had pretty much sealed the win to make you feel better? Really?

    2. Your stats seem off, and I'm assuming you're including the TDs that the Jets OFFENSE has given up here, though if I am wrong, please correct me.

    3. You wont find a person here who doesn't think the Jets pass rush is shit, so this point is worthless.

    4. Are you really going to compare your rushing attach to Run DMC, MJD and Ray Rice? REALLY?

That'll buy you a lot of Vviagra.

And you're doing '#winning" now? You should switch back to homoticans. Seriously.
