If woodhead catches passes while not playing I will be so impressed I won't even care the jets are losing.
Are you even a pats fan? Like BB would actually disclose injury information before he has to. I'm just basing it off how he looked leaving the game. It didn't look like a rub some dirt on it type injurie.
I have to believe this game is going to be close. Will the Patriots rip chunks out of the defense on certain plays...absolutely. The defense needs to bite down in the red zone. Gronkowski is going to be a larger factor than any WR or Hernandez combined. Losing Jerod Mayo is a large loss too for the Patriots, especially if the Jets inend to run up the middle or utilize dump off passes. Losing your leading tackler is a sort of irreplaceable factor, no? If the Jets get blown away, which is possible based on recent games, I don't know what to think anymore. If they can't get up for this game, then then won't get up this season.
Also, I don't want CrHOLDmartie to screw the game up in terms of defensive positioning if this becomes a field position game.
If Mangold plays, I expect the offense to play pretty well. Let's face it, the Pats defense is an abomination.. one of the worst defenses I've ever seen, and that was with Mayo. Their cornerbacks are absolute garbage, and that includes the "great and in Revis's class" Devin McCourty. And to top it all off, unlike Oakland or Baltimore, they have zero pass rush. I really expect the O to bounce back and play reasonably well. Shotty knows his feet are to the fire right now, and if he can't put something together this week against this defense, he should be fired Sunday night before they board the team plane. On the other side, the Jets have had more success stopping Tom Brady than anyone else by far. I doubt they shut the Pats down like they did in the playoff game, but I don't think the Pats are going to put up 500 yards and 40 points like they have been doing either. This is going to be a close game, and if the Jets can get the run game going, they are going to be in position to win. Their backs are against the wall here, and it's not like the Pats are invincible.
Jets C Nick Mangold (ankle) was in pads and doing drills with the first-team offense Wednesday. Very good !!!!
@deathstar: Hey troll, you wanna piece of me? Why don't you go back to your Dolphins site and lament the state of your 0-4 team...
Without Mangold even the Patriots D might be able to pressure Sanchez. That said, on the other side, if Hernandez is playing and healthy, the Patriots offense will definitely give the Jets fits. Having Woodhead out hurts but it looks like we might have his replacement in Ridley!!
