He's not our best player and I was hard on him early in his career because we did draft him over Ed Reed (thank you Bradway) but he's been a solid player. My guess is Rex and Tanny are going to start scouting some PS players to see if we can find a diamond in the rough but that's unlikely.
Westerman wont fill the role, not at all. He's just not that type of player- more of a passrusher, and I think Maybin is better than him at that position... Not sure who will fill his position stopping the run. Is there any shot we try and just throwing Maybin into the fire and see if he can do well? I know he is probably only a passrusher for us, but we dont have many options
Yeah, I just don't know where they are going to find an OLB who can start on this team that isn't playing somewhere already. Maybe somebody's practice squad.
I did happen to make a thread about it today. I could see Banta Cain being brought in, if not maybe a trade for Curry ( most likely a 5th rounder) . I don't see many other choices.

Totally sucks to lose Thomas did not think he would be out for the season. Takes a while to recover from that type of injury. Hope your rehab goes well BT.
I know that I'm new to the forum and my input probably matters little.. but I really think this is a huge blow to an already sub-par defense.
This is a big loss. BT while never living up to his 1st round status has always been a solid player. Westerman and Maybin must step up like Pouha and DeVito did the previous two years when Jenkins went out.
