That's a fair assessment, though I'm partial to the Matt Hasselback comparison.

I'm not a big fan of Flacco, though if Sanchez can become another Matt Ryan, Jet fans will be very happy (and conversely Pats fans will be sad)

But if Eli is the true ceiling for Sanchez, you also have to think of the possibility that there is a floor as well. Lets see how Mark does when he doesn't have an elite OL to protect him, an Elite running game, to keep the pressure off him to carry the team, and an elite defense to keep the opponent off the scoreboard.

At this point of the season the Jets have none of those elite aspects to their game, and if it continues, it will become more and more incumbent on Sanchez to CONSISTENTLY put up big numbers to off set those issues I guess only time will tell if he can

I'm actually pretty optimistic about this game. The Ravens are a tougher matchup than the Patriots.

We match up well, and their defense is a joke.

"Brady has a team of officials protecting him at all times. Piss off."

    Clearly opinion not fact

Cant post the link but google Foxsports "Refs playing favorites? Check the facts" from 9/30

Former NFL Vice President of Officiating Mike Pereira, who now serves as an analyst for Fox, delivers a piece today on the perception that referees protect certain quarterbacks more than others. The piece is a follow-up on Eagles quarterback Michael Vick's remarks that he doesn't seem to get as many calls as others.

It also shatters the thought that Tom Brady is protected more than others.

"What about Tom Brady and Peyton Manning?" Pereira writes. "Let me look down the list, although it might take me a while since they both are way down there. Brady does get more protection than Manning, that’s for sure. Brady has drawn 0.16 roughing the passer calls per 100 attempts compared to 0.15 for Manning. That, for Brady, is one call in every 625 pass attempts, while for Manning it is one call for every 679 attempts."

For Brady, that ranked him 30th among quarterbacks.

Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell leads all quarterbacks with 1.46 calls per 100 passes

You missed a key factor: For the pats- this game is their Super Bowl.

I think you got it the other way around JC. The Pats are among the best teams in the league for being able to turn the page. During the regular season, its only one game at a time, then on to the next one. I won't deny its a little bigger because its against a divisional opponent, and against the team that beat you in the playoffs, but you wont hear BB calling for other teams to beat the Jets any time soon.

THe fact is that in week 5, this game is a lot bigger for the fans of each team than it is for the players. Not to say the players don't want to win, but they want to win EVERY week.

First C'mon Son I've seen on this site (though I'm sure it's been here before). Well played!

That's interesting. During yesterday's game they said "Belicheck makes a game plan for each team they face", which I found to be really innovative. Do you think he'll be doing that this week?

No game in Week 5 is akin to the Super Bowl.

No, they don't mean dick. Brady is #30 in being sacked; he is also #30 in getting roughing the passer penalties.

This is exactly what it should be if there is no bias.

OK, sorry it was an inside joke.

When NE was getting beaten up by the Lions in the preseason, 624 and I were laughing at a dozen comments on patsfans.com where people were saying that game was the "Lions Superbowl".

I like the Jets chances to bounce back, but this site will be a fun read if the Jets lose.

I'm scared that if they bounced back ( good chance since Rex will light a fire up their ass), they will have a classic let down against the Dolphins on Monday night in a game I want the Jets to absolutely rape us...

But we are so bad that I dont think you can suck against us...It's simply not possible...Just throw the ball and you win.

This is retarded, roughing NEVER gets called when a QB doesnt get touched at all. And which two QBs get touched the least ? Hmm Brady and Manning look at that.

Now go find out how many times roughing gets called each time Brady/Manning get touched vs the rest of the league. Periera is a fucking fool for posting this garbage, since it literally means nothing whatsoever.

He might as well have it compare roughing #s per qb for all snaps, even handoffs !

Sparano is somehow still the coach...As long as he's there Luck is a real possibility. Needless to say I'm rooting for him to get fired.

Regardless of whether or not you get the 1st pick, you'll probably be calling either Andrew Luck, Matt Barkely, or Landry Jones your starting QB come this time next year.

My fear is that he gets fired and we go on a mini run and wins some meaningless games...
