I'm just curious,,, they lose yesterday,, the whole site is going off on them,,, and it's all about me commenting on them playing poorly? What i'm the only one saying they sucked last night?
i initially thought the title was: "Constant Blowing Of Team Leaders" this would have made more sense after reading the OP.
No, everyone says they sucked last night. You get criticized because of your specific comments, not because they don't fit with the general theme of the game.
Because all you want to do is lay blame based on what you heard on the radio or TV. If you don't want to get ripped for being a jackass stop acting like one. Offer some insight because all your insight is based on what other people say. This thread is horseshit, seriously. The Steelers are Pats are both notorious for cutting guys before they hit the wall and how many Super Bowls have they been to in the last decade? How many AFC Title Games? They've won 5 and have played in 7 Superbowls because they cut guys who were past their prime. I think they know what they're doing. Do you really think Thomas Jones would have made a difference the last two weeks? Ihedighbo? Woody, obviously is missed but those other guys. Get serious man.
I would have liked Woody on the team. And TRich. And this stuff about Woody retiring,,, go to ESPN radio's website. Play his interview. He wasn't playing for the minimum and that made his retirement decision for him.
You said it better than me. It is not like the NFL is full of roster spots for aging vets. Look at some of the guys that are gone. Look at some of these supposed team leaders and where they are now. Thomas Jones, not doing much in KC Damien Woody, retired Richardson, retired Ellis, has approximately two tackles so far this year Cotchery, ???? I liked all those players, but I can see it was time to move on.
Dude...Woody's knees are shot. If he could play, he would've. How fucking hard is that to comprehend? Did you think the Jets were going throw a shitload of guaranteed money at him? Christ. Tanny didn't fortify the oline depth in the draft.....you couple that with Schotty's awful body of work, our recent injury problems....and you have the reason why we're losing.
Woody and Richardson ARE Retired cause the Jets didn't want them back... Then with Woody,, they cut him at his current salary which must have been like 3 mill a year and then after the fact, wanted him back at 950K.
Richardson was cut because he's 1000 years old, and we drafted his replacement 2 seasons ago. It's called passing the torch. Are players not allowed to retire of their own free will on your planet?
Turner going down really killed it for them. I think things would have been serviceable with him in there. Turner over Baxter, a much better setup. How many teams have great depth behind their starting oline? You could say though that with both Turner and Mangold down they should have made a move, but who woud that be? Who could get up to speed fast enough to learn the line calls and offense?
I thought TRich was good last season. He still was a very fine blocker. These guys will play forever,,, not free will,, he knew they didn't want him back.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WOODY RETIRED BECAUSE HE IS OLD AND HAS NO KNEES. OF COURSE HE WOULD HAVE GUTTED OUT ANOTHER SEASON FOR $4 MILLION DOLLARS. fksefhvbfhdbvljkfgijhgbn kdgkjht nj
you're right...how many teams have oline depth? The answer is not many. I mean, look at the Pats....Koppen goes down, and their offense hasn't missed a beat. I think they lost Vollmer last week too, and Solder stepped in. That's what the Jets are lacking....capable depth that can step right in and pick up where the starter left off. This needs to be addressed in the offseason, it needs to be at the TOP of Tanny's to-do list.
