Has anyone noticed that everytime they have the guys who are the leaders of the team, the guys who after wins in the lockerroom lead the chant, the guys who when you watch a year end highlight film are the guys who seem to be the leaders, those are the guys the Jets automatically cut the next season? T-Rich, Ihedigbo, Ellis, Woody, all were deemed not important enough to keep, all were cut or not asked back. All bragged about all last season cause of their leadership, then just thrown out the door. And then they give the guys who have never been considered leaders, that role. Doesn't help.

I thought of this too. We have lost a lot of veteran leadership over the last few years (T. Jones, Ellis, T Rich & Woody) and this certainly can effect a team. You see some guys stepping up (Tomlinson, Revis, Scott & Sanchez) though.

You're right, we should have kept a 95 year-old fullback, a RT who knew he had a solid career in broadcasting and didn't want to play the game anymore, a one-dimensional safety and a pot-smoking, beyond his years DE who landed 3 x what we were able to pay him.

Anything else of brilliance to bestow upon us this morning?

I forgot about that one,,,, THOMAS JONES,,,, good call,,, that's another one... All you need is one of these guys to be the guy who breaks them down in the lockerroom with the Home of the Jets Chant,,, the guy Rex says,, come up here and break us down and that's the guy they show the door the following season.

If they asked Sanchez to lead the chant, he'd start making fart noises with his mouth as he playfully shoves Dustin Keller. He and Keller would then start playing keep-away with Brunell's helmet. This is our 3rd year QB.

If you think that the reason this team is in the shitter is because of leadership, and not poor playcalling/personnel on the 53, you're even more delusional than I first suspected.

I think there is something to it.... Not the reason the OL can't block but then again, if they didn't blow off Woody originally, we wouldn't be looking at that crappy Hunter. Like I said,,, Ray Lucas and Klecko were adament about it after the game yesterday, something i've been saying a long time. Adament about it.

They want to make the team a throwing team with a lousy OL. Doesn't work.

glad to see you are back making asinine topics again.

TJ-more money than we could afford on an older rb. his production has dropped. good move by tanny
ellis-quadruple the money to be a situational end in ne. good move
    trich - retired
    twoody - retired

DWoody and TRich wanted to come back. TRich was told he was no longer welcome and Woody was cut and then invited back at that vet minimum. I know some of you just want to argue but I'm not saying this is the main reason they are losing but it's characteristic that good guy Tanny has shown that I don't like.... Like I said, Klecko and Lucas said the same thing,,, and were stressing it,,,,, so I guess they were being assinine in your eyes, also.

There was no way this team was going to carry 2 Fullbacks on a team. We did it for 1 season. Tony Richardson is 39 years old. How are you gonna justify keeping him around when we have John Conner? People get older every year and this is something every football team has to do.

woody walked away! he's stated in several times. he was old and tired. he had offers on the table to commentate. he took them. can you blame him?

there is a reason trich didnt go elsewhere after he was let go. he retired.

How about Woody? Was it so necessary to cut him originally? I heard him on the radio weeks ago. He retired cause he wasn't happy with being offered the minimum. For his origianl deal, he'd be back,,, and far better then this Hunter, whose been awful.

I heard Woody interviewed where he said he couldn't put his body thru what it had to go thru for the minimum. You're probably right about TRich, I just find it a little annoying that they seem to act like these guys are so important and then they seem to be the first one's let go.
