That's true but who is to blame? Forget Mangold's injury for now. The only other change from last year, when we arguably had the best line in the NFL, was that Woody retired. How could we go from first to last with one change unless the GM did nothing to fix it (which he didn't) or the OC did nothing to adjust for it?
Remember one thing about Woody,,, they cut him first... And then they wanted him back at a reduced price. If they would have just kept him from the get go, he'd still be playing. He wasn't coming back for that BS vet minimum the Jets wanted to reward some of these vets with.
Junc, thats bullshit. Putting Sanchez UNDER CENTER, in the I formation, to throw the ball against this front 7 is ridiculous. Going one step further, it's evident to anyone with eyes, that the NFL has evolved to a quick passing offensive league. It's not just me saying it, and half the teams in the league doing it, Brian Billick pointed it out in an interview ast week, and Collinsworth was incredulous LAST NIGHT that it took soo long for the Jets to spread out the defense. Of Course when they did, what did Brainless Brian call, a pass OUTSIDE THE FUCKING NUMBERS. kind of defeats the purpose.
are you listeing to the games on the radio? cause if not its impossible to have missed the poor planning and preperation. the game plans flat out suck. it maximizes things we do poorly while ignoring the mismatches we can take advantage of.
You back the QB up. You get rid of the ball early. You run counters, draws, and sweeps. Apparently, Brian the Brain never heard of such things. Who has Charlie Weis phone number?
You can't call effective plays when the QB has no time and when the OL can't run block. Watch the game. The backs get hit soon as they touch the ball and Sanchez is getting killed out there.
First off we were averaging 25 PPG on O the first 3 weeks which was a nice improvement from a year ago. Second, Hunter has been brutal. Combine that w/ Mangold's injury and it's not good news for the O.
Aren;t you the one who is always haroping on 3 secs or less? we were running 3 step drops all night and still he has being harrasssed. The first fumble came w/in 2 secs of the snap. What can he do, what can the OC do? the Ol is pathetic. None of us has any idea, we aren't preparing during the week. We don't know the gameplans and whatever they are when we come out and can't open holes or protect the QB that kind of burns the gameplan up, right?
First time I posted in this thread, cuz I've had it. Our O-Line is SHIT, and this fucking clown continues to run the ball inside?!?! WTF?! We ran the ball to the outside ONCE!! We ran 1 screen play!! This guy is a clown OK, I'm done.
We were passing the ball or weren't you watching? Greene has 157 yards total in 4 games and he is our feature back. There is a disconnect there.
You arent making much sense. thats the whole point! the game plans arent working. you cant open wholes running right up the middle vs ngata, lewis, and company with a backup center. how about running something on the edges instead? or get creative with a HB/TE screen or something, anything other then a predictable play that has no chance
Fixed your post. The one or two times a game we go outside? Works pretty damn well. Again, anyone with half a brain would know what to do in that situation. STOP RUNNING UP THE MIDDLE!
i just have one more thing to say shonn green is a monster at running back. get him to the edge and he will break every arm tackle from the defenders chasing after him. he runs downhill at an angle and cuts up field to break big plays off the tackle. dbrickashaw is still on the team at left tackle. schotty runs up the middle with shonn green almost exclusively now.
asinine. When something doesnt work, you dont throw your arms and say "well shit thats a lost cause." you fix it. tweak it, change it, mix it up, do things differently. continuing to run the SAME run play that HASNT worked is what doesnt work. the definition of insanity is doing something over and over and expecting a different result. Shotty is insane. predictability is determined by knowing whats coming before it happens. the result is irrelevant to wether or not something is preditable. everyone here, everyone in the stands, and most importantly the team on the other sideline knows exactly whats coming
