It's early. There's a lot of football to be played. Every team has a few game slide. At the end of next month we'll have a better idea as to what types of teams we have.
We need so may adjustments to be ready is scary. This is not a tune up, we need an overhaul of the offense and most of the defense to be competitive.
Positive: We got to the QB more then previous games. Also we probably played the best defensive game in recent NFL history in which the team gave up 34 points. I genuinely feel that the defensive played extremely well. We play like that against New England and we are in the game. Negative: The entire offense from play calling to execution. If we play literally half as bad we win the game tonight. So going forward, if we play decent, not even good, but decent and have the same defensive effort we beat the Patriots. It is that simple.
The defense? Come on. You make it sound like we have a 4-12 roster.... The defense isn't perfect but it's good. They played well today.
All the more reason why it was a good call keeping him out today. A division game is more important, and from what I saw on tv he clearly wasn't ready. Hell, I don't even think Rex had to consider anything, he was definitely not ready.
Plus they were on the field the whole goddamn game. Were throwing the ball around 3 and out every time putting the defense back on their heels.
And I don't want to hear "our receivers suck" bullshit, the Patriots make Danny Woodhead shine like gold, it's the whole package, the Jets just don't have it this year.
who gives a fuck if we play for first next week if we have no realistic shot at finishing first at the end of the season? it's gonna take 12 or 13 wins to win the division, and this team just isn't capable of only losing 1 or 2 the rest of the way. this is a second place team at best. better to just start gearing up for our three road playoff games instead.
I think 11 wins could take the division with a tiebreaker. NE's defense blows and mayo is out for a little bit now too.
Unless the Jets sign Jesus and Chuck Norris this week, I kinda can see this one going in the L column
I'm with you ... and i said it before the Ravens game. it's all about the beating the Pats and winning the division. yes tonight was a complete disaster but it really doesn't matter if we win next week. I know we're better than this and I think we'll come up big against a mediocre New England defense. you cant get away with a make shift o-line against the Ravens ... but you can against the patriots. this fan base is always so quick to panic. I guarantee all the people jumping ship already are the same people who wrote us off after losing to the pats and dolphins last season. the schedule is 16 games and there's no doubt in my mind we'll win most of them. we were out-gunned up front against a great defense and a lot of guys had bad nights. it happens. the raider loss bothers me alot more than this one.
