tweet by david Clowney: DavidClowney David Clowney What's sad is I swear I'm sitting here calling out plays before they run them and I haven't been with the #Jets in a year come tomorrow
Thats what I expect from some. At some point during this game the protection jelled, even for about a quarter..and no throws down field. You must be watching another team the last 3 years. You dont have to throw down field to complete a pass....here is the key...you have to show the defense that you MIGHT...MAYBE..MIGHT..do it.
Schotty has to be fired just so we can find out whether Sanchez is any good or not, because at this point he looks like garbage. there are far too many of these types of games from him -- can't read defenses, overthrows, fumbles, interceptions, you name it.
I totally agree with this. Sanchez is a major question mark right now...but you will never get a feel for this kid until they get someone to run that offense thats idea of getting really crazy is not throwing 3 yard slants or 5 yard button hooks.
Newsflash: Schottenheimer signs 10 year extension with the New York Jets. Schottenheimer Defense Force: So why are the Jets hanging on to him? Isn't it because he is good? Stat sheet says: Jets Offense ranks squarely in the middle.
I basically agree with this. I think it's obvious by now that Sanchez and Schottenheimer make a terrible combination. Unless the plan is to get rid of Sanchez, at this point you have to get rid of Schottenheimer. There is absolutely no way it happens during the regular season, however, so I think this is not going to be a very pleasant year for the offense.
I completely agree with the fact that we need to see how good Sanchez is. Im not entirely sold on the idea that he is garbage, but we need to make it clear what are the factors causing the offense to struggle. I'm not discounting that the play of Sanchez has been questionable or that there are other factors which prohibit the offense from doing well but we really dont know
Everyone has injuries! Dallas had two rookies starting on the o-line in week one. No more excuses for shotty
I think we should give Schotty until the bye... if we're still struggling like this fire the ass hat and have either Cavanaugh or Callahan calling the plays.
Alright I got no excuses for Schottenheimer this week. The OL was epic trash, but he didn't make any adjustments.
The Jets have to find out at some point if Sanchez is worth investing in long-term. I really like him, but you can't keep this same shit going for too much longer. You have to fire Shittenheimer and see if you can get someone in here that actually knows how to game plan and maximize the talents of the players you have. Shittenheimer clearly CLEARLY can't do that. He's proven it over many years now.
When has he made adjustments this year? I haven't seen it in any of the games. It's the reason our two best offensive players came out to complain about him.
shotty is horrible - could you imagine what LT could be doing playing in the slot like welker - even mcknight playing out there - what happend to 2 TE and leading with conner - what the hell happened to our offense ....
You know what guys, you're right. It's Schottenheimer's fault Sanchez didn't throw within five feet of his target on half his passes and our All-Pro center was replaced by a rookie who clearly didn't know what he was doing, resulting in a ton of pressure and turnovers. It's also Schottenheimer's fault that the depleted O-line made it hard to run the ball. Seriously, what the fuck are these mythical adjustments you keep talking about? You can only play as good as your players are, and ours sucked tonight. Doesn't matter if the plays were different, Sanchez still wouldn't hit targets, and Ngata would still penetrate on nifty running plays. He's not Bill Walsh but firing him would do next to nothing (and who's to say the next guy would be better, anyway?).
