The GM of the Ravens was on 1050 about an hour ago and said he expects that no team (including his own) will rush for more than 100 yards again for the rest of the season vs. the Jets.

Wouldn't surprise me. Not like your defense sucks.

If anyone cares, these are McFadden's touches against the Jets. I don't think the D played too poorly, just gave up a few homeruns with shoddy tackling and over-pursuit. Late in the second quarter the D gave up over 100 to McFadden on the ground. Outside of that he was shut down. That 27 yd run on the blown flea flicker you can't really count.

    ^^

That 67 yard TD was just plain ugly on our part...The D line looked like a row of dominos and that poor excuse for a tackle attempt.... Although it looked like there were 2 instances where the Raiders could have been called for holding.

Rex said it in a presser, no one kept contain on the backside and that's where they got gashed.

Thanks for the post & thanks to NiceNinjaX for putting it together. It was really good to see the runs one after another. Seems Jets run D was not as bad as the stats indicate but McFadden is the kind of guy who gives your D a very small margin of error on each play.

Flacco and Ryan both need to come down a tier in this analysis!

That's a very well put together video ... and really highlights two things:

The first is what they always say ...big plays make the difference in almost every game. You can play 90% of the game dead even, but what you do with the remaining 10% is the difference between winning and losing.

The other thing that comes off glaring from that video is just how bad Cromartie got owned on that 70 yard run. Add that to the list of things he did to kill us in that game.

I mean, I know this is not a good way to look at a game, but McFadden is a talent you do not see every week, let alone every month. If you take away those two big plays, 1 which the raiders had great blocking and the Jets didn't set the edge and the other which was just a great play by Oakland, Mcfadden would have only ran on us for 77 yds. Granted that would have tallied up for 4.5 yds a carry still. I think it would have been something we could have dealt with.

That second long play that Mcfadden had was just a great heads up play by Jason Campbell. Bryan Thomas had the contain on that side and Campbell knew it. So once McFadden started to run back towards him, Campbell decided to run, creating an "option type" situation for Bryan Thomas. Either way Thomas loses.

The more that I think about it, I don't necessarily dislike that this happened a week before facing the Ravens. Bart Scott and Co. are going to be so pissed off come Sunday night.

Wow, Pouha was getting pushed back on many of those plays. Devito did a poor job too, but Pouha really got dominated against the run.

Just think with the O-line the way it is, even if Mangold plays, this is a very tall order. I like our chances better against NE since they have nothing resembling a defense. Our D has been shaky in 2 out of 3 games. We are playing a top 5 AFC team on the road. I'm not sure MS gets the time he needs to throw and I can't see us running on Baltimore. I thought we'd lose this game when the schedule came out.

    Baltimore 23
    Jets 10

I think we will bounce back next week, be tied with NE at 3-2 and all will be okay.

Wow I feel like I'm in the film room.

Why is Rex breathing into my ear? Get away.
