It sucks we play 4 AFC opponents & 2 division rivals before the bye... I'm hopeful he comes back for the Patriots, not so confident he'll be ready to go vs the Ravens.

As much as I would like him in there, scratch that LOVE him in there, I just dont want this to be a lingering issue all year like his shoulder last year. It is a long season, if he plays in 13 of the 16 I would be happy. Sit him VS the Ravens and Pats too and get him the extra day for his returne on Monday night VS the Phins. I am WAY more concerned with the way Hunter is playing. More 2 TE 2 WR 1 RB sets are in the works here for max sets.

Practiced on his own today. No word as to whether he will play Sunday yet.

Lord have mercy if Mangold isn't out there Sunday night. I'm one of the most positive fans around but I'd hate to see what would happen if it's Baxter out there against Ngata

I would hope that between Callahan and Schotty we can figure out ways to neutralize Ngata. Between double teams, trap plays and roll-outs I'm sure there are some things that we can do.

Good, we need him to be there so Mark doesn't get destroyed by Ngata or Ray-Ray.

During the portion of practice open to the media, he was in uniform but did not practice with the team. He did some stretching and light jogging on the sidelines as well as some climbing exercises.

If he can't go all out by tomorrow's practice (which looks doubtful to me at this point) I can't see him playing on Sunday.

Sorry man I don't agree. Nick is playing Sunday. Rex is economical with injury report this weekend because he can.

Rex has said he may well be a gameday decision, and that he doesn't need to see him do a full practice before the game - if he's good to go on Sunday then he's playing.

Naturally I hope you're right but the signs suggest otherwise.

I don't discount the possibility. But for Mangold to be a gameday decision, I believe the following would have to happen:

    1. Mangold has nearly fully restored ankle mobility without significant pain,

    2. he has a high degree, if not perfect, stability of the ankle joint prior to taping,

    3. he has perfect stability and strength in the ankle joint with no pain after taping,

    4. he can run, cut hard, drive block, sustain blocks with no significant pain or weakness, and,

    5. he can convince Rex and the CS that he is not hiding anything from them regarding any of the above or else there will truly be hell to pay if he has a setback as a result of being less than honest.

Mangold is a tough MF but unlike certain other types of injuries which cannot not be made any worse by "playing through" them, coming back too soon from a high ankle sprain could set Mangold (and our O-line) back for weeks if not months.

It is not an injury to be taken lightly despite how benign it may sound.

Mangold should be doing GQ photo spreads.

    He's got a perfect nose.

This, I would rather have Nick at full Nordic strength for 13 games than take the chance of him re-injuring or having this be a naggin injury.
