Well, the Yankees had the G.Y.C thread after the ALCS debacle, and the Mets had the G.M.C. thread after the 2007 collapse. I figured this was appropriate.

you lose 20 games in september, what else could possibly happen?
then again, the yanks using 12 different rookie pitchers last night in the first 8 innings
    didn't help in the end.
the task at hand now is to take down the Cy Young winner tomorrow, not exactly an
    enviable position.

I totally agree. All I ask is that you remember that the Yankees won't exactly have BoBo the clown on the mound tomorrow.

    Excerpt from the Boston Herald:

It had been a plodding, month-long march to baseball’s version of death — elimination from the playoff race — for the Red Sox.

But the execution took only minutes.

In a spectacular juxtaposition of dejection and elation last night, the Red Sox had barely trudged off the field after allowing a pair of two-out runs in the ninth inning of a 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles when Evan Longoria smashed a 12th-inning solo homer to give the Tampa Bay Rays an improbable come-from-behind victory over the New York Yankees at Tropicana Field.

“As soon as we walked in, we saw it,” said left fielder Carl Crawford, the former Rays star and, as much as anyone, the face of the Red Sox’ collapse. “I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of something like this. This is a devastating blow to us. We go down in history as one of the worst collapses ever.”

    Actually, it is the worst.

And they gave up 4 hits through the first 7 innings. What is your point exactly? Did you expect them to bring in Sabathia in the 8th?

They were up 7 in the 7th so I don't think Sox fans have anything to complain about.

The best part of all was watching the Orioles celebrate like they won the world series.

Show up the Orioles and Buck will stick his foot up your ass.
