There is no tiebreaker when it decides a playoff spot. They'd go to a one game playoff. Tiebreakers are only when it's just for seeding.

rays would host the one game playoff, if it happens, due to HTH MLB ditched coin flip system a few years ago.
Kemp hit his 38th HR last night, has two more games to see if he can hit two more and be 40/40 for the season, now leads the NL in HR and RBI, not sure about outfield assists but he's close, third in average. Kershaw finished with 21 wins, leads the NL in ERA and Ks. Dodgers as a team with last night's win clinched a winning record, 81-78 with two games left, the rainout in Washington won't be replayed. I give Mattingly credit for getting us back to this point, it looked pretty hopeless in mid-summer. May not mean much but it could--perhaps now we don't clean house, just re-tool, keep our guys, get a catcher and go for it next year. Hopefully with a new owner.
Good. You'd think a sport with a 162-game regular season could come up with a better criteria than a coin flip.
It could. We really don't need a lot of free agents, mostly to keep the team we have. I'd like a better catcher, it's a shame Russell Martin left, he was part of the young core with Loney, Kemp and Ethier.
Why? Martin isn't very good. They replaced him with the exact same player in Barajas. Both are basically average catchers.
I think Martin is better, both offensively and defensively. Plus, he was considered the backbone of that team.
Just being stupid. I actually have to pay a little attention to baseball these next two nights due to an over/under battle with a friend. One of my picks back in March was to take the over for Markakis' hit total. The number was 176.5. I also took the Dodgers under 82.5 wins. That may decide which one of us wins the thing. We may tie with 4-3 records, but I hold the tie-breaker for having chosen the better date for when Derek Jetter would record his 3,000th hit.
