Yeah see.... I pretty much hate to see people Cash in just by saying a bunch of crap. If it gets real bad he can do card shows and sign autographs.... I'm pretty sure his money is OK.... So I say STFU OLD MAN!!!!!
He took a dump on Namath on the Kay show interview as well. I was air fist pumping when he called Namath out. If Rex gets the Jets to the playoffs again this year, everyone should get off his dick and STFU. 3 consecutive years to playoffs is the best stretch next to Weebank. If we go a 4th year, he may hold the best record for Jets wins in history over 4 years. I'm not concerned with Rex and neither should any of us. Baltimore's D was top 5 in the league for nearly 10 years. I' would not consider myself a football scholar by any stretch of the imagination, but even I can see that Sanchez has improved his game - a lot. The parts around him have taken a step back (OLine collapse, out of sync with WRs, no running game -> see OLine).
Say it ain't so, Joe! I have a lot of respect for Joe Namath, but seeing him take shots at our current team is tough to take.
Yeah, Let Rex tell the guys before the game that, " Hey guys, do your best, even thought they are a better team, just maybe we could get a win" That's what we need again. Ughhh, Joe, just shut up..
In my lifetime, I don't think I've seen the Jets win as many big games as they have in the past two years. Namath can eat a dick.
I agree with Joe. All the talk about being the #1 D and marching through the NFL to have home-field is bullshit if you play like that. That was a horrible defensive performance. After the big talk Rex had about the D he looked foolish. Rex talks like he is putting the 85 Bears 00 Ravens out there. They shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as a great D. No "great" D would have a game like that. What we saw was Rex getting his first lesson in Same Old Jets.
Both are entitled to their opinions. Nobody believed in his team more than Joe, Rex has to do what works for him. They don't have to agree, Rex isn't going to spend a lot of time worrying about it.
What is his constructive criticism?? Jets are too overconfident & don't prepare enough. Without access to the locker room, there's no way he can possibly have any basis for that criticism. He's just blindly smack talking.
I love Rex's idea of bringing Namath in to watch them prepare. They can also have a little chat and get on the same page, or he can just chew his old wrinkly ass like he did Dungy. Namath's criticism is a lot more tame than others like Ray Lucas. Lucas tore the team apart in his post game comments on SNY, but Ray Lucas' comments aren't going to carry the same weight of name recognition as Namath's, so they don't get picked up by the mainstream press. Hopefully, Rex will use all this negative talk to his advantage.
If it wasn't lack of preparation what was it? How do claim to have a top flight D, and let a team run the ball down you throat and not even sniff the QB late in game?
Hey Joe, Rex has had us in back-to-back championship games, yep hes doing something wrong. Its one damn bad game. I guess Joe IS SOJs
So you think he's busy all week just telling the team how good they are? Zero but I know enough, I have read, watched, and heard enough to form an educated opinion. Poor #s, didn't win enough- that's a bad combo for a QB.
If you watched the game, the D forced Oakland to punt a bunch of times. The first drive was bad and Oakland managed to break a few big plays due mostly to their own ability and we gave them another TD on the Cromartie play. We had the reverse snuffed out, the guy was too fast. McFadden may be the best back in the NFL right now. Doesn't mean we don't need to fix it, but it's not like they were pounding it down our throats, they made a handful of big plays, a few more than we made.
I rather like the idea of Namath being invited to practice to watch the preparation. Good idea, and Namath should take Ryan up on that. If I were a player, I think just seeing Namath on the field during practice or before a huge game would be motivating. But I'd like to see him appear at key times, like before playoff games and/or the Superbowl if we ever get there. I guarantee you the players aren't going to be saying, "STFU Old Man" and "Suck a Dick Namath." They're going to be like, "Hey Joe, how did I look on that route?"
I'd agree with that. And maybe the same will be said about Sanchez too. The kid's got talent but we need to see it over a longer period.
