I just went into Patsfan's forum, and the list of threads are almost a carbon copy of what we have here.
Were people expecting to go 16-0. Calm down we had a bad game and we will recover. Look at the Pats, Eagles, Houston.
Well you know Brian Schottenheimer is bad if the Pats fans are blaming him for the breakdowns in the Pat's offense when Schotty was 3,000 miles away from the game.
Relax pal. We're 2-1. We take 1 of the next 2 and there is nothing to worry about. That was a tough game on the schedule going out to Oakland. It had trouble written all over it with Baltimore and new england on the schedule the next 2 weeks.
I got up, went to the vending machine, put in my last 2 quarters to buy some Cheetos, but I press a 4 instead of a 5 and end up with Trail Mix. Crisis
There is no fucking crisis.. holy shit. The talent is here. The biggest question is/was Sanchez and he's been putting up good numbers albeit a few stupid decisions. He's got new receivers and the lockout killed chemistry so I'll give him some slack. It's not like the running game or offensive line is helping him either. The offensive line will be back to form sooner or later and I'm sure the defense will be as well. Wilkerson and Wilson look like they're going to be very good in the defense this year. Special teams hasn't skipped a beat without Smith.. Kerley looks very good and McKnight/Cro can explode on kickoffs. Basically they played a shitty game on the West Coast. It happens.
I've only been here for a few months, but is this normal? I realize we should have played better but come on, you win some, you lose some. And the Raiders aren't exactly the worst team in the league. We had a bad day, we'll adapt and try to move on. Rex Ryan has done a lot for this franchise, I'm not saying he's immunte to criticism, but surely he's due the benefit of the doubt?
With every loss, someone will bring up SOJ for sure...(Same Old Jets) and hit the panic button in hypermode
Do you think the chances of 4-1 are as good as 2-3 ? I don't. 4-1...............5% chance. 3-2...............25% chance. 2-3...............70% chance We are underdogs in both games and both are on the road. The Ravens will be up for Rex's return and the Pats are out to avenge last January. The crisis is not so much the record as the reasons for the record. The O- and D-Lines have regressed. Wayne Turner is a human sieve and Ducasse is a 2nd-round Vernon Ghoulston on Offense. I saw another talented team -- the 1983 one -- hit trouble early and never recover. I hope I am wrong.
Wayne Turner was a good college basketball player. This isn't 1983, we didn't fire the coach after going to the title game, we didn't draft a QB in the 1st rd, ... This team will be fine, will it be good enough for a SB? We'll see but it's not going to collapse b/c they lost one game on the road againt a decent team.
Sounds like YOU never recovered. You represent the part of our fan base that just can't seem to get over the disappointments of the past and get your brain around to realizing that we're a different team now ... one of the best in the league. I was there for 1983 also. What does that have to do with this regime? This is a great time to be a Jet fan. Try to enjoy it. Am I supposed to be worried about playing the Ravens? They better be worried about playing us.
(1) You can't have a 'crisis' in your 1st year as HC. It's the honeymoon period. (2) The 'crisis' isn't the loss yesterday or even the record, if it is 2-3, in 2 weeks. The crisis is that the underlying strength of the team -- O-line pass protection and rushing the ball, D-Line stopping the run and generating pass rush with stunts/blitzes -- have not been visible at all this year, except garbage time vs. Jacksonville.
Oh I have one. 4-1...........33.3%chance 3-2............33.3%chance 2-3...........33.4% chance We are so screwed. Look at those numbers I made add up to 100.
Digging back 28 years for another example of a crisis? Really? We've had a few since then, like maybe a hundred.
