    QFT.

The Jets will be in tough. Is it impossible? No....but the odds are certainly not in our favor.

Gievn your well-known feelings about ketchup, that really was a crisis!

I'll just echo everyone else that in fact each of the last two years there were far more difficult points of the season than there is right now. (I hate to use the word crisis for something like football; Cuban missle crisis, financial meltdown crisis, sure, but football? Come on.)

Agree with the odds. Vegas will set the line accordingly but we've won some big games when no one has given us a shot. Let's see what happens before we pencil in three losses.

I thought I remember in Rex's 1st year a long losing streak and Rex saying we were out of the playoffs.....

*Note... Unless your killing it and going undefeated there is ALWAYS a crisis period in an NFL season....

As a Jets fan with Rex as HC I will always be ok, if I think the worst problem is defense - that happens and can be fixed - OTOH If our worst problem is QB, we have issues.

We are going to play 2 more really rough road games and it is unfortunate that we have to do this now but it is a long season. What I really want to see from this team that we haven't in the past is to own at home. 7-1 at home this season is necessary. No more 5-3. If we take care of business at home we are still a playoff team no matter what.

Why in the world are people criticizing the OP for saying that there's a good chance we go 2-3 after 5 games? We're playing our next two on the road against two of the best teams in the AFC. It's certainly not a given that we'll win either game, and we'll most certainly be dogs in both. Sure, we could obviously win one or both games, but there IS a good chance we lose both.

Nobody is penciling in three losses, merely stating the obvious, which is that losses are going to be more likely in each individual game.

We are criticizing him because he said that this is the first crisis in the Rex Ryan era and it is not even top 3. We were 4-6 at one point 2 seasons ago. Last year people freaked out when we were 0-1. Last season also after losing to NE after losing to Miami all of a sudden we were missing the playoffs SOJ blah blah. Just because we lost 1 game does not mean we are a terrible team all of a sudden.

I think "FIRST CRISIS" is what people are really questioning...

Heck, I said last week that we could be staring at 0-3 playing on the road in those 3 places... And 0-3 in those spots isn't a crisis yet IMO.....

Yep. 2-3 with Mangold back and healthy and maybe a few other bright spots in the trenches would be far from a crisis.

We are back to where we need to be - backs against the wall, media & experts doubting our abilities, "over-hyped" - it's Rex's recipe for success. One thing I've learned over the past 2 years is when its the Jets Vs. The World, you better pick the goddamn NY Jets.

I don't disagree with that criticism in the slightest. In fact, I think it's entirely an overreaction to call this a crisis. Even if we're at 2-3, it won't be a crisis given the structure of our schedule. However, that wasn't what I was referring to. I'm talking about the people specifically questioning this statement:

I don't get any of the above comments. How anyone can think it's a minor shot at 2-3 is baffling to me.

Most people. And most people are right to question the idea that this is a crisis. That's not what I was referring to.

What if we tie one or both of the games? Then what?

I have a problem with the OP saying this is the Jets first crisis under Ryan. There is no way that is true. We have been in far worse holes than this, and we have certainly lost games to inferior teams before. Our team is resilient though, and we have always fought back. We may not win because the Ravens are an excellent team, but assuming that we will lose to the Ravens just because we played like shit in Oakland is a mistake.

Did you happen to notice that we lost 5 times last year?? Green Bay lost 6 times. These panic posts are so overthetop ridiculous. Atlanta is 1-2 right now. I wonder if they're out on ledges over there as well.

We played a bad game. It happens. I expect to be 4-1 when we come back home.

1-And as far as the offense not being as good with Plax ... we've scored 83 points in 3 games, Plax has 2 TD's and Sanchez has a rating over 90. so far, that's actually better than last year and I'll take it. Running game? ... see #2.

2- Yes I agree. but we've had injuries on our line. Callahan will get it fixed.

3- You must be kidding about the defense. You're really worried about this unit?? We're returning the same guys who made us a top 5 defense the past 2 years. Do you think they forgot how to play? Just take a breath and see where we are in a few weeks.

IMO the real crisis was the piss poor tackling by our defense. and its not so much they were getting ran over by mcfadden.. we looked like we didnt want to tackle him.. if our LBs and DBs dont have some accountability next week and step up rather than waiting for someone else to make a tackle, ray rice is going to do the same thing to us... we need to get back to swarming the ball and gang tackling... hopefully this loss ignites a flame under them.. i expect rex to chew them out all week and put an huge emphasis on playing fast and physical.... having mangold back would also be nice... any updates on that situation?

this is a poor thread...Rex had 1st season as his biggest predicament where the team had to claw its asses out of the gutter to make the playoffs
