haha....I was serious. Is it a judgment call or is it any hit to the head? I'm a little too tired and little too buzzed to google this shit. Because if it's any hit to the head, then I would definitely have to agree with you. Like I said, though, I thought it was inadvertent.
A question about the officiating - how was the fake spike and fade to Plaxico at the end of the game defended? I was watching via a crappy stream, and it looked like he was getting obviously mugged, but they didn't call it and the broadcast didn't mention it. Jets D obviously lost the game, and deserved to lose, but after some of those earlier PI calls, I thought that play was going to be called when I saw it.
What about all the holding on the McFadden run? Jets played poorly but the refs were flat out awful today.
you know what? I thought Eric Smith was held pretty blatantly and was yelling for a flag. That's the NFL, though.
There were two holds on that play, if you watch the last DL on the end was completely taken to the ground by his jersey and then Smith was held further downfield. The officials sucked ass today, they called some shit against Oakland too that was horseshit but I don't understand how these guys miss some of the obvious crap. Like why did Rex need to use a challenge on that skip pass? It was so obvious it had no chance of standing but the principle is it should have been called correctly initially. It wasn't even close. The sack on Sanchez was awful, smacked in the facemask and then tackled from the back of the helmet? Let's not forget our old friend Seymour slapping him in the head on the 4th and 2 and I'm still trying to figure out how there was no PI on the fake spike, it looked like he was getting mugged. On the TD pass to Burress there was some PI as well. All in all the calls on Cro with exception of 1 were legit and the false starts sucked. We didn't lose because of the officials, that's not even the issue but in a league where they are so concerned about concussions and protecting guys they certainly shit the bed with the Sanchez play.
We had a ton of awful call: -Wilkerson hit -the no call on the sanchez INT(if you watch just to the right of the ball before it is thrown the DB knocks a wide open Burress away) -3 or 4 of those defensive holdingcalls -Sanchez got hit 2 times that should have been roughing -the no call on the PI on Burress on the last drive etc... BUT we have a team good enough to overcome but we played poorly and didn't deserve to win.
I won't blame the refs... But, our CB's are physical... If you watched the spotlights on Revis last week Vs Bryant you would have seen A BATTLE - You would have seen play where a flag could be thrown on any given play..... As a Fan of the game, i like to watch games where the refs LET THEM PLAY - LET THEM BATTLE..... This game yesterday was not a game where they let the players play.... A lot of those Cro calls could have been let go and a lot of those calls bailed the Raiders out... I like the Jets chances a lot better when players are allowed to play - I wonder if that happens more in playoff and bigger games where the Jets have had success. Hey Hurt or help "My Team" But LET THE PLAYER PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd much rather get beat in a game where the players were allowed to play..... And yeah, Sanchez was beaten up - Facemasked - hit in the head and..... NADA...
Good post.... You can't always overcome such things though... Especially in the Black Hole.. Just like I have always said about the Tuck Rule - The Raiders MADE THE PLAY - THE GAME WAS OVER..... Now, you ask a team to do it again? Well, flip a coin on that one.
YUP! And if I recall, it was right after a tick tacky call on the Jets.... Hey again, the Jets got man-handled and lost the game.... I just want to see players play all game and consistent calls.
I AM NOT BLAMING THE OFFICIALS FOR THE LOSS YESTERDAY. However, that was one of the WORST fucking officiated games I have ever seen. There were such shit calls or blatant no calls for both teams frankly. And it's one thing for calls to be inconsistent from crew to crew, but the calls by this one crew yesterday were so inconsistent it was astonishing. To me, worse than Mo's roughing the passer was the PI call on Cro when all he did was fucking trip and try to catch up to the WR and never came close enough to him for there to have ever been contact. It was appauling and I wish that crew could be fined or whatever.
on the sanchez int, im pretty sure your allowed to make contact with the receiver if the qb is outside of the pocket and the ball isnt in the air and i thought sanchez ducked down and thats why he was hit in the head on the play that he got punched i agree with everything else, tho
