This loss is totally on Cromartie.
4 obvious PI's All crushing blows and the fumble. Shades of Earl Christie. Why was he even back there. They had to know he was going to try to wipe out the 4 PI's with one play. He should've been benched. How many times could you expect lightning in a bottle.

I didn't know Antonio Cromartie was the fourth team in the AFC East.

I do agree Cro shouldn't be back there returning kicks. Not because he's got the football IQ of a rock but because one good hit would radically alter the Jets D for the rest of the game.

The two holding calls were horrible phantom calls. And Cromartie did not give up 234 yards rushing.

With the exception of Cromarties fumble on the kick off, he's been solid returning kicks. If he would have broken through and got a touchdown no one would be saying anything right now. in addition two of the 4 calls against him were blatantly ridiculous and unwarranted.

Cromartie is such an inconsistent player. Week 1 was almost the goat, Week 2 was the hero, and Week 3 he was the goat on defense. It's amazing.

Cromartie absolutely sucked today. On the other hand Kyle Wilson has been terrific.

    Last update I saw was

    Rich Cimini
#Jets expected to update Cromartie situation before flying back to NJ. Rumors that he was taken away in ambulance.

    THIS.

Now, he did fuck up the kick off, but there are plenty of factors into this loss. Sanchez' stupid decision after the Kerley return etc etc. Pace's stupid hold that set up Jani's kick. We could have been just down 7.

Cro sucked but giving up 250 rushing yards is what lost the fucking game.

cromartie had 5 or 6 of these type of games last year. i don't know why anyone would be shocked. he's an inconsistent player who commits a lot of penalties. good corner but not on the very good level or the stand alone 'revis' level.

Except he took it out of the end zone, fumbled and basically sealed the game.

don't get me wrong im not the biggest cro supporter, and i think he's extremely inconsistent and soft. But at that point we needed a big play. He's proven that he can break through on kick offs and get us good field position. Overall it was a bad game by the entire team. We played sloppy and uninspired. Playing how we played today will not get us to the sb.

Yeah, either Cromartie today, Vance Joseph on 10-1-95, or Ray Mickens on 9-26-99. Those are the worst performances I've seen from a Jets cornerback. Was there any CB who was particularly putrid in the 11-24-86 game? Probably. But I was 9 at the time and only maybe watched the 1st quarter of that Monday night game.

    This.

And this is not the worst game a corner has played in Jets history. We've had some bad corners in our history.
