We scored a TD after the Cumberland drop (when he had a defender draped all over him) and Mulligan dropped a pass that was tipped at the line. Did you even watch the game?
It was a bad throw. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. My problem is you're complaing about a poor decision; singular. Too many people on this board expect perfect games from him. Bad throws happen. I can live with a bad throw if he plays well outside that, and he has. "don't just brush it off as if it was just an awful throw." Considering i didn't brush it off at all and admitted it was an awful throw, I fail to see how you came to that conclusion.
This is laughable. Did you see the ball hit Mulligan in the chest? It was right to him. And you're right, I forgot we scored after that drop on the LT catch. I thought it was a different possession. Relax man.
Third year QBs have been known to still make dumb decisions. Just look at how Josh Freeman is playing.
I'm not attacking you Murrell, I think these posts by a lot of members here are just so over reactionary. Going back to your original post, 3rd year QBs can't make throws like that? So Drew Brees, Big Ben, and Rivers (all elite) don't make dumb decisions from time to time? Did you see how bad Brees INT was today? It happens to the best QBs in the game.
Of course bad throws happen. But I am talking about his DECISION to throw into coverage across his body in that situation. He made a bad decision last week as well. These poor decisions are what concern me and I don't expect him to be making mental errors at this point.
This thread is about Sanchez and about more than 1 throw. We all know that Sanchez has the talent to play extremely well, we've seen it. The frustration comes from his inconsistency, which was on display during the middle part of the game today, no matter what his final stats were.
He is what he is. A middle of the pack QB. Anyone who argues otherwise is an idiot. I don't care if he lights it up in the playoffs. That's a small percentage of the season.
If it were a time to time or occassional mistake I wouldn't be upset. But it's been happening way too often. He has to know the situation. You cannot throw the ball across your body into a crowd on 1st and 10 from the Oakland 24.
That's an INT that shouldn't happen. Probably the only INT besides another 1 I don't blame him for this year
Stop the bashing on Sanchez The O line is fucking shit. He was running for his life most of the game. As for the interception, yeah it was a mistake but he didn't blow the game. The defense sucked. I saw some guys with alligator arms when Mcfaden was running in the open space. Yeah, its tough to throw down the field when literally you take a 5 step drop and there were three defensive lineman in his face. Just cut him some slack.
I thought Sanchez played pretty well today overall. The INT in the end zone sucked but he made a ton of plays. Can't see how you blame this on him.
The pass to Mulligan was far from a gimme, and as 29 pointed out, it was a tipped ball. Really hard to blame him for this.
granted the pass protection was shitty, but he was throwing behind the receivers on MANY occasions.... he may be tough, but he was not sharp
