How come it just can't be admitted that we had a bad game minus Mangold, and that Sanchez got hit?? Looking for flags. I'm obviously biased when it comes to this team, but the game was fair.
I'm well aware that the Jets shit the bed, and don't blame the refs, but some of these calls were a tad ridiculous.
Why does it have to be binary, all or nothing? Why can't the team have played poorly AND have had some bad calls against them? Sorry, but a team can play poorly enough to lose AND have bad calls against them. That was the case today.
NFL Not For Latinos. Sorry Sanchez, The Brady Rules are only in place to protect white QBs . . . named Brady.
It was inadvertent. You guys have sold me, yes, there was contact made, but I didn't think it was on purpose. I guess it's a judgment call.
Listen, I get what you guys are saying, and you guys are both dudes I respect, but I didn't think the refs affected this game.
But intent is not considered when it comes to contact to a QB's head. At least it is not supposed to be.
I don't think a fairly called game gets the Jets to stop the run, or to not make stupid mistakes. The bad calls do not excuse the bad play. But it's not mutually exclusive, either.
Regardless of the calls, the Jets did not play well enough to win. However, the issue of officiating is still huge here. The fact is the NFL charges a premium for their product. Higher quality control is in order.
Understood. And this is not making an excuse. The refs are not an excuse. But they had a bad game, and they tend to protect some QBs more than other. I have a friend who teaches at the high school I attended a while (read, long time) back who is an official in the league. I respect officials. But there needs to be consistency. Protecting only the chosen few QBs only perpetuates the gap between the chosen ones and everyone else. Does anyone outside of New England think Tom Brady could have his nose broken by a punch while he is in the pocket, and not have the defense called for it?
I'm beginning to question the roles of the officiators right now. Any blow to the head or just ones "judged" to be over the line?? I was kinda under the impression it was a judgment call. Maybe I'm wrong. And Mick, c'mon man, I'm always right there with you defending our QB. He doesn't always do the right thing, but he's a winner. Today's a speed bump, and definitely on the defense. The worst game I've seen them play in a while.
The flag came on 2nd down or 3rd down not sure...But because it was intentional grounding it would have been a loss of down for the Raiders and it would changed things up. However was that lead ref is an idiot.
