One of his few mistakes.... If anything though, year 3 has seen this O-Line not give him shit worth note in terms of pass protection and we have seen in each of these 3 games that Sanchez has been drilled to the ground hard and that its a miracle he was not injured in any of the games. Its gotten so bad that now Sanchez has to throw on the run and wait/improv for his targets to get open.
Why force it at all? We were deep inside Raider territory and it was 1st down. No need to force that throw.
Yeah, I thought he should have just thrown it away as well. But that being said, game not on Sanchez today. Though a score there could've put the game away early.
There is no excuse for that terrible decision, but think about the rest of the game. He hung tough like he always does in big situations. This game is not on him. Sure, that play took at least 3 points off the board, but there were plenty of situations that could have gone differently in the game.
Christ. Sanchez put up a QB rating of 96 today. Completed over 63% of his passes. Sanchez was NOT the problem today. He literally made 1 awful throw all game. Our defense couldn't stop a nosebleed. Its pathetic that Oakland has a 1 dimensional offense and we still couldn't stop it with our 'elite' defense.
More than 300 yards, 2 passing TDs, one rushing TD (could have been two), one pick. Sorry, but that is a very solid day.
Totally disagree. The only bad play was the INT in the endzone. Outside of that, he played well enough to win. 27-43, 369 yds 2 TDs, 1 INT, 1 Rush TD. Most teams win with that kind of performance. This loss IS NOT on Mark.
Who cares about his QB Rating. And that INT was extremely costly - don't just brush it off as if it was just an awful throw.
that pick took points off the board and was an easily avoidable mistake, i have no idea what he was thinking there
Playing well and playing well enough to win are 2 different things. Sure Sanchez had a good fantasy day and the Jets usually win with that kind of line but they left points on the field in the first half and the Jets offense was MIA for half the game.
I'm not saying he was the reason we lost. I'm pointing out that he continues to make bad decisions like today's INT. That was not the time to throw it up for grabs.
The game was still winnable despite the throw. There were worse plays like the Cromartie turnover, the O-Line getting dominated in quarter 3, and Michael Bush taking a dump on our defense on 3rd down to set up the Raiders in FG range. Sanchez had an awful throw but under the circumstances that the O-Line was getting manhandled by Wimbley and Moss, Sanchez putting up the numbers that he did and how he still stood alright for a good portion of the game is quite a feat.
He is one step away from the sideline. Flip it out and live to play 2nd and 3rd down. There is no doubt that was a bad decision.
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but Sanchez wasn't the problem today. Christ, this team scores 24 , they should win.
