I knew this team would be in for a dogfight today, but I didn't think they send in a golden retriever to battle with the doberman that showed up in Oakland.

The offense goes through one guy - McFadden. I like Campbell but if the jets could stop mcfadden than the game would have been theirs.

I'm not going to go all "OMFG they're not gunna win until week 8!!!" but this kind of loss is a total pain in the ass. It never should have gotten to 31-17. That was bullshit.

This is why you need to go back to playing madden.

The Jets LB's were probably the worst unit on the field today. The Raiders did absolutely nothing in the passing game outside of the FG before the half when they dropped back into a soft zone and they still gave up 250 yards on the ground.

You never know how good your team will be after just week 3. I'm disappointed in many aspects of the Jets play today, but there is no way I could say we aren't good and won't make the AFC championship game again.

We aren't even a quarter way through the season and Sanchez still hasn't had much time to get on the same page as his new receivers. The defense will continue to improve, and so will the offensive line. Shitty game, but I'm not worried yet.

The issue is that we're not good enough to have that much of a margin for error. And when Sanchez and Cromartie give away points, and we can't force turnovers back, we're in trouble.

Guys like McFadden expose how slow our linebackers are. They're good at making plays in front of them, but they really aren't fast, and Hue Jackson called a great game to get DMC the ball in the open field.

LOL I like how I'm being called a moron yet you guys were probably the same people that when the Jets cut Woodhead (for David "Preseason" Clowney then got cut days later Lmao) said he wouldn't amount to anything. Fact is team managements do make mistakes.

it was embarrassing to see the Raiders run on us like that. Mcfadden is a really good back for sure, has always been, but I thought we were a really good defense. We looked average on defense today. As for Sanchez.. Well, let me just say that all he can ever do is surprise me, he can never really disappoint me.

Mcfadden has incredible speed, most linebackers wouldn't have a chance.

Mcfadden was running away from Cro and he's pretty fast.

The lack of a pass rush had absolutely no impact on this game. When the defense gives up 234 yards rushing, the pass rush was irrelevant. And I am not sure Maybin ever sees the field.

Answer me this - does Maybin stop McFadden on his long TD run, because that play changed the game. That and the Cromartie fumble.

And Yeah Mcfadden is simply a beast. Top 3-5 RB in the NFL.

The mistake your making is thinking that Maybin will see the field if he's resigned.

    Let it. The fuck. go.

Also, aren't we supposed to be one of the teams helped by the lockout? The defense returns 10 starters. The offense returns 9 starters if you include Hunter. The coaching staff is all the same. I'm not buying the lockout excuse, not for us.

I'm not giving up on the team. But I think we need a reality check. Rex says all the time how talented this team is. I just don't see it. Defensively, sure, we're very good, today nonwithstanding. And even defensively, we're not fast, and we're not good at getting to the QB.

I just don't think our personnel offensively is good enough to get us to that 13-3 level that we probably need to to get home games in the playoffs. And unless our offensive line improves, which I really hope it will, there's little chance we're going to be able to go to Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and New England in the playoffs and win the 3 games we need to in order to get to the SB.

And we had to go on the road as the 6 seed in the playoffs this year. I want more. I want a home playoff game. I want a bye week. I want a Super Bowl. The road is a hell of a lot easier at home.

A big reason we were able to win the last 2 years on the road is because our offensive line provides our team stability, and we were able to control the ball pretty well. Right now, we have trouble run blocking, and we have trouble pass blocking, and on the road in the playoffs, that will not fly.

It is week 3, so maybe I'm overreacting a little bit. But I was thinking a lot of this heading into the week, I was not confident going 3 games without Mangold, and this was a nightmare scenario.

And how many more hits can Sanchez take?

Sure it does, it could of helped get the ball back before its a 10 point game, it could of stopped Oaklands FG before half time. Dont act like it had no impact on the game because it certainly did along with a ton of other things in todays debacle of a game. If even Campbell was hurried it hit on a couple of throws, could of even forced an INT or two....

The fact is if they had any plans on winning the division, this is the exact kind of game they could not afford to lose. And they lost it. On a day the Pats lost to the Bills. Unreal.

I don't see how things will be much different next week either. Ngata is going to tear our interior line apart without Mangold if he doesnt play. And Ray Rice is going to be a real pain in the ass to stop. Our slow linebackers are going to have a tough time with him getting to the outside.

My only problem is that the front office trusts Rex to be clever in every single scheme for every single play in order to create a pash rush. They absolutely ignored getting a player who can create one on his own.

    We need a Ware.

We've seen this thread for the last two years, probably twice or more per season.

It was 1 game. One really bad game. Lots of new moving parts, a critical injury and just unfocused football.

We always struggled with west coast trips minus sd in the playoffs and the last Oakland game.

Yes, we're not that good when multiple people make really boneheaded mistakes. That means cromartie especially, Sanchez and Schotty.

we all want that shit too, but if it doesnt happen this year...people need to remember how young this QB is, and the majority of the team. this team is going to be around for 10 years.
