Because there was less than a minute left. They score and they still need time to get in FG range if they recover the onside kick. 2 runs would of made it near impossible to get back in FG range.

Not in quarters 2 and 3....

No surprise in the 4th quarter, he was the best player on offense on the team.

He wasn't destroying the Raiders D, but he had a 4.0 average on the day. They should have ran him to pick up 2 meager yards.

The D was bad, but the offense scored 24 because Oakland backed off and played more coverage, if they kept blitzing we were finished much sooner. Alot of individual plays hurt us most, but again both lines were pathetic, we are in a lot of trouble.

@BAL @NE vsMIA vsSD BYE @BUF vsNE short week @DEN, this is going to be a fucking rough stretch.

We were outplayed on all 3 phases of the game. There wasn't just one turning point. 1st and goal and going for the fg on the 4 yard line instead of scoring a td there early hurt us. Our run D looked really poor and our O line collapsed in the 2nd half.

You seem to misunderstand what the 4th and 2 call was...

Because they can't run it up the gut? Even when they were getting running yards today it was on outside plays, but those were the only running yards we've gotten in six weeks.

They should have just given it to Greene and let him go outside on one of the plays though. If you throw it on third and two, you have to try to run from a spread formation on fourth and two. If you run on third and two, maybe you at least get it closer for the fourth down play.

The 4th and 2 at the end of the game was almost as bad, I guess I can understand wanting to go for a TD when you're right there but you need to get within one score and extend the game. Rex didn't have a good game in general though, wasting the second challenge was bad too.

    This decision was terrible.
    Plain and simple.
You HAVE, HAVE, HAVE to kick the field goal.
You're still losing the fuckin game even if you score the TD.

Plain and simple. Raiders (besides Revis, of course) owned our defense. Good win for them. Cromartie, getting fucked by third-tier WRs. Terrible game. Way to back up your defensive player of the week crap.

The 3rd down throw that was completed and did not stop the clock killed the team on a backbreaker. That might have been on Sanchez as he has major control of a 2 minute drill and that he doesn't have to listen to Confucius over on the sidelines. Likewise the WRs need to know that they cannot hover down the middle and not in the endzone.

Should have been a FG attempt regardless, even if its on 2nd down.

The field goal unit has to be waiting on the sidelines. HAS TO.
I love Rex, but this is a horrible call.
You cannot even argue it. If it were any coach, we'd be destroying him right now.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. The fact of the matter is that the refs sucked, Schotty's play calling sucked, and stupid Pace penalty sucked. The Jets fucked themselves today.

They should have been up and ready as soon as the Plax in completion happened since it stopped the clock but since the 3rd down call was an atrocious one, I am fine with that 4th down call for the TD.

It would take at least 10-12 seconds off the 40 second clock for the FG unit to be up and ready.

you seriously trying to blame the refs?

  14. Of course, there is the fact that the offense played well, and the defense didn't. But that shouldn't get in the way of the armchair fans bashing Schotty.

should have kicked it!! always extend the game!! needed the field goal anyway!!

  16. Not the reason the Jets lost, but they had a horrible game. Five Oakland first downs as a result of Jets penalties? Really?

And could Tom Brady get punched in the face by a defender without a Congressional investigation, much less a penalty?

These are the ones that will get talked about but the worst one of the game was the non call on the Sanchez INT. The Raiders DB launched himself at Plaxico and pushed him out of bounds while Sanchez was rolling out, right in front of a ref and he didn't throw a flag.

Just let it go after a bad loss. Nobody wants to blame the guys who played shitty today or look at the defense being Swiss cheese.

Schotty is the designated whipping boy for taking out frustration. Just let it go because he isn't blameless evennif he doesn't deserve all the blame.

  20. I know, I know. Schotty sucks because all the armchair playcallers and Madden guys wouldn't call what he calls. It doesn't matter that most of them have never actually had to call plays, and don't understand the whole process. Schotty is the easy goat for the lazy fan.
