Look at it this way, everyone Gus appeared to defer to is now dead. That's pretty badass.

The bitch vs. badass debate can also be called the Michael Corleone vs. Tony Montana debate.

Tony Montana is a "badass." He took shit from no man, and never appeared soft. He always spoke his mind and never backed down from any challenge.
He was never really in control of situations, though; too much of a hot head, coked up badass.

He got gunned in the last scene.

Michael Corleone is a "bitch." He calmly and quietly sat through every insult, and never appeared angry or violent. He rarely spoke his mind and always shied away from direct confrontation. But he was always in control; calm, cool, calculating control.

He killed everyone who ever crossed him and died an old man.

    Which is better?

anyone else find it kind of lazy of the writing staff that all the huge revelations that advance the plot or increase tension are a result of Walt's slip of the tongue.

the supposed mental state bullshit , the wine with Hank, the painkillers with his son.

i find it funny they consistently make him put his foot in his mouth as a device to advance the plot.

    Amazing.

I'm not arguing which one's better.
I'm just arguing against Gus' "badass" status.

And yet, if badass = winning in the end, then so far he's been a badass.
Also, about the bolded part, I didn't saw that in Gus against the cartel.

But anyway, it's not big deal. It's just an opinion about a small detail of the show.

i just find it funny that whenever things are reaching a still or plot lines are dragging out with no end in sight its always a classic Walt verbal diarrhea that advances the character interactions, directly, or indirectly.

considering this and his manfaced wife are the only complaints its still my favorite show out right now.

Apparently, the "Gus likes the cock!" train of thought is spreading like wildfire.

I never got that vibe. At all.

It really adds nothing of relevance to the story either way.

The show is all about secrets. Secret formulas, secret lives, secret shames. It's all about secrets, their power, and how incredibly difficult it is to keep them.

It's not verbal diarrhea. It's just impossible to keep secrets forever.

I'm pretty sure Gus and the other pollos hermano were more than just business partners.

Gilligan said it's open to interpretation.

...and how do you know it adds nothing of relevance to the story? We still have no idea who Gus really is.

To me, it doesn't matter exactly how close Gus and Max really were. The motivation for revenge/payback is still there, regardless.

I guess I'm not following how any definitive proof of his sexual orientation changes anything or could change anything about his character. He's still a meticulously, cold, calculating, ruthless sonofabitch no matter which team he plays for, if not both.

The scene in the desert and of Walt in the crawl space were fucking epic.

    FYI

I go overboard with my statements when i see something really fantastic...But I have to honestly believe that this will go down as the best television show in history on my part.

How's Walt getting himself out of this one?

All of a sudden blowing up that sports car doesn't look like the greatest of ideas

No idea at all how Walt can survive this.

I will point out, however, that Chekov's Ricin still hasn't come into play.

Also, throughout the entire scene in the desert, I couldn't help but think what Mike would've said had he not been incapacitated. Gus chose a half measure when he should've gone with a full.
