How old were you when he was playing? If you were too young to remember or not even born yet, that might have something to do with it, as many people don't like hearing over and over about what an amazing party they never got to attend.
No it's not. McFadden could conceivably become the best Raider running back of all time. He'd have to surpass Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson which is highly unlikely but it's not impossible either. And the discussion regarding McFadden relating to this thread is about a single position, not the greatest Raider of all time. We've had so many great players in our history at every single position that there's no way you could say that one stands above all others. Revis could go to the HoF and he probably is the greatest Jet CB of all time but he'll never be the greatest New York Jet. That guy's already played and been retired for decades.
All DMC has to do is play and HE WILL be the raiders best RB...Bo's career got derailed and Allen lost a lot of years due to Al's BS! DMC already is a more complete back than Allen and unfortunately Bo got hurt! Van Egan was Damn good too. Right now our most accomplished RB is Allen... DMC as best Raider ever? NO!
Allen was a better blocker than McFadden. Remember, Allen actually was moved to fullback for a while and did a lot of blocking for Jackson. Also, Allen was a very good pass receiver. McFadden can ovetake Allen, but it will take several years of high quality play. The name is van Eeghen- not "Van Egan." Marcus Allen and Mark van Eeghen are the only Raiders runners to have more than one 1,000 yard rushing season.
If Revis's career trajectory continues, he will go down as one of the top five corners in NFL history, which would make him the greatest Jets defender ever. Throw a Super Bowl title on to his resume, and he'd probably surpass Namath.

Since you appear to be a stats guy, could you tell me what the average completion rates were for QBs between the mid 60s to the mid 70s? Are you familiar with the changes in coverage rules since that time? Actually, if you were more knowledgeable of the NFL from that era in general and the Jets from Namath's era in particular, I don't believe your conclusions would appear as narrow and out of context as they are. BTW Jim Kelley was truly an excellent, HOF QB with wonderfully impressive stats (although he lacks a 4000 yard passing season despite 2 extra games and the benefits of a far more pass friendly rule book) but I have no doubt whatsoever that he would gladly trade his glossier career stats (and three Superbowl appearances) with Namath's for just one Superbowl ring. Just one. And, if you're an honest Bills fan, so the hell would you....
