It's just something funny to talk about. There's a lot of players on this team now that weren't here then so they won't be motivated by this.

Locker room pin-up shit's overrated anyway. If you aren't pumped up when the opening kickoff happens you're dead already. "I was't gonna play very hard until I heard about this hotdog thing. Now I'm totally gonna kick some ass".

I'm sure that's how it works.

As for most of us Raider fans it's more of an embarrassment at the state of our team at the time. It used to be we'd get pissed off for getting beat by anyone. Any loss to any team under any circumstance meant a new vendetta had started. And the next time we played that team, we usually won and beat them down in the process. Now it's just another embarrassing loss that's become all too common. God.. I have to back some 25 years for those days.

    I'll say one thing.
If a team needs a guy eating a hot dog 2 years ago as inspiration to win a NFL game, they're in trouble.

I personally thought it was a bit classless, even if it wasn't the intention. A few are right when they say if the tables were turned Ala brady everyone here would NEVER let it go

If his blood sugar was low or he was hungry the trainers have certain fluids for that type of thing, not
    a fn hot dog

I don't really see that being a problem. You would think they would just keep Conner and/or Greene in for extra protection. Maybe more passing than usual which will really put Oakland in trouble. And if they blitz Keller may have a 200 yard game.

Agreed... however it really doesn't make sense to be classy at the Oakland colosseum right?

I don't see what the big deal is. Dude ate a hotdog. He was hungry. Who cares. Did it have any impact on the game? No it didn't. This is an example of how incompetent and or lazy reporters make a living.

And how incompetent and or lazy coaches motivate their teams.

The Raiders put up with JaMarcus Russell stuffing his face with hot dogs on a routinely basis for 3 years, can they seriously get mad at Mark for eating 1 hot dog for 3 minutes?

The whole NFL has been having fun at the Raiders' expense for the past 10 years. Joke is on them.

Jackson comes over as a wannabe Herm Edwards here, but without the humour.

FFS, nobody minds if a player has a drink or hooks up to an IV, why can't they take on some solids if they need them? And Sanchez wasn't just standing on the sidelines brazenly eating it, he was trying to be discreet. To hell with anyone who could be offended by that.

If the Raiders need this for inspiration they are in big trouble.

Just to play it safe, I really wish Mangold was playing to help protect Mark. Raiders may be looking to play a bit dirty on Sunday.

If the Jets get blown out by the Pats I'll be flippin my shit because the Jets are getting blown out by the Pats. I could see how the actual Jet players on the field might feel disrespected by the other guys eating hotdogs, but as a fan who gives a fuck?

    Exactly.
And even if it hasn't been like that, I don't see it as a big deal; that or Braylon doing the doogie.

If Brady had done that the day of the blow out we would be hating him even more than now.
So what? we were humiliated anyway, him making fun of us would be the same as any pat friend you may have making fun of you for a month because of that, probably even eating a hotdog in front of you on purpose.
    They earned bragging rights.

If the Raiders play the Pats, is Jackson going to use an image of Brady in UGG boots as motivation?

I've been on the sidelines working at many dozens of NFL games. Players eating on the bench is not uncommon by any means. A lot of players don't eat much before a game, and after a few hours blood sugar drops.

It's uncommon for it to be featured on camera.

    Isn't Urban Dictionary awesome?

Every so often I make some spit out their soda explaining the definition of beard.
