That's fair and nothing outlandish about Cro's statement. I don't remember Aso returning kicks and doing some of the other things that Cromartie does. But the better coverage, have to give that to Aso.

Prove me wrong Cro and set the world on fire.

Good, hopefully he has a chip on his shoulder because he played like it last week.

The best play a cornerback like Nnamdi Asomugha or Darrelle Revis makes are on Monday and Tuesday mornings, when opposing teams' offensive coordinators rip 30 pages out of their playbooks.

Cro can run, but he can't make a play like that.

Aso was on ESPN2 First Take today and he pretty much told us what went down. The Eagles weren't involved in the discussions at all until the last day. He didn't specifically say the Jets but he said the teams rumored were correct and it was down to those. The Raiders NEVER made him an offer. Then the Eagles jumped in and they were always #1 on his list so went there.

Exactly. For whatever flaws Cromartie may have, he's one of the top 10 defensive playmakers in football--every time that he touches the ball, he's got a chance to take it to the house. It's no wonder that Schottenheimer wants to find ways to work him into some plays on offense.

While I was reading about Cromartie and his proclamations of self aggrandizement. A certain G&S song started playing loops 'round my head.

Revis and Nnamdi have better technique, and lockdown their receivers better than Cro does, so they don't get as many opportunities to make plays.

Cro gets thrown at more, so yes, he'll make more plays.

Nnamdi and Revis are better corners no question but when Cro has the rock in his hand he's much more dangerous. So i'll agree with him.

which is why it would have been so totally insane to have both Scrabble and Revis on the same team. I mean you completely destroy OC's playbooks and plans to throw the rock when that happens.

That said, Cro is the bigger on field playmaker. The guy makes plays for both teams. Sometimes its a gigantic play for us, sometimes he gets burned to a crisp. It is what it is.

Revis and to a lesser extent Aso, are so consistently plastered to their receiver there just isnt a play to be made for the opposing team. And stupid QB's are the only ones who give either guy a chance to pick off a pass. So they don't have a chance to make major game-changing plays any more.

Bingo... he isn't quite as good of a playmaker as Neon Deion but like Deion everytime Cro picks a ball off he can take it to the house. He is quite possibly the best athlete we have on the roster.

It's probably between him and Joe McKnight as pure athletes.

Nnamdi got burned a couple times against Atlanta I think. I think he was covering White.

He did get beaten a few times.

In his defense, Roddy White might be the most underrated player in football. He's a beast.

True but when we faced the Falcons in 09, Revis shut him down.

Nnamdi will always be second best. Punk ass.

Cromartie is better than Nnamdi when the ball is in his hands.

I know Asomugha stays on 1 side of the field(but has followed a WR a little bit more this year, and last, but still stays on 1 side) so you have to look at it like when Revis is not being thrown at.

Revis/Aso not being targeted, especially with no safety help is more of an impact in my opinion. Allows the defense be more aggressive, or send coverage help to others.

Not necessarily a 'play' but it has more of an impact in my opinion.

Cro gets a bad rap sometimes because he's left on an island often due to Rex's scheme. If we didn't have Cro opposite of Revis it would be difficult to play the way Rex wants to play defense. There is definitely a case to be made that he is more valuable than Nnamdi since he is a threat on defense, special teams and now offense.

People don't avoid Asomugha's side because they're afraid of going incomplete. They avoid his side because they're afraid he'll take the ball away.

Same thing was true for Deion Sanders.

Revis is a really weird situation at this point, because he's probably as good as both of those guys during their prime but he still gets thrown at a lot. That's partly the blitz pressure that the Jets put on, which forces QB's into making decisions they don't want to, but there's something else there also.

I think as much as NFL QB's and offensive coordinators give lip service to the Revis is best concept they still haven't fully accepted it. If they had then Revis would never see a ball go to his side of the field, pressure or no. That was the Asomugha and Sanders situation for years.

They didn't throw to his side at all last year. In 09, they did, because that was his first truly elite season. And so far this season, Romo has thrown his way a bit, but he's arrogant that way. Teams will be throwing at Cro all season.
