I can say with supreme confidence that if Mangold does not play against Baltimore, Sanchez will probably be incapacitated by the middle of the first quarter.

I had seen it mentioned when the Jets acquired Caleb Schlauderaff that in the event of an injury, Matt Slauson would play center and Schlauderaff would slide to guard. I wonder if that's in the works?

 

Might be but since nobody had any experience at all yesterday Baxter was the obvious choice with the the Jets and Chargers systems being similar.

 

The Raiders they can afford to not have him.

The next two games though, he's gotta return.

Here's some sobering news re: Mangold's injury. I'm told "it could be awhile" before he returns. Likely out minimum 2-3 weeks. #nyj

Two of those weeks will be tough. At least we won't be doing much running up the middle.

 

As long as we beat the Raiders, we'll be in decent shape even if Mangold misses the 2 games after that.

Going into the Dolphins game 3-2 could be the worst case scenario, and not that bad.

 

Not that bad? 2 afc playoff contenders one which we will battle for division champs. We need to beat ravens and patriots more than raiders

Anybody excited for Ngata v. Baxter and Hunter v. Suggs?

 

Relax everyone. Mangold going down is a blow but we are supposed to be a championship calibre team- getting injuries is part of the game, it's how we deal with them that counts.

Baxter looked pretty comfortable to me. We'll get by.

Sanchez already has enough to worry about Hunter getting schooled. let alone Mangold's mini me getting eaten alive by Ngata

 

Had the same feeling when Chris Jenkins went down but we carried on and that turned out okay. Chill.

 

Baxter looked like shit, if we werent playing the Jags itd be even more evident.

 

Kris Jenkins could be replaced cause of scheme, Rex, pouha, devito.

clogging holes is different than making blitz pickup reads and calls. let alone blocking the Ravens and Patriots front 7's

 

with mangold out we gotta go max protect, don't even think about going 5 wide.

 

Sanchez should hide out at his mother's house for the next 2-3 weeks.

 

This is bad, but Baxter looked OK against JAX and Moore can provide the double-team against Ngata and Wilfork. Tomlinson can pass-protect and provide a last line of defense against guys like Suggs and Mayo. DeMarcus Ware did WORK against the Jets and they still came out with the win.

Don't write us off just yet.

I am more worried about Ngata going against Hunter than Baxter. I think he plays DE more than on the inside. You can put Ngata on Hunter and a wide body on Baxter and collapse 2 parts of the line...........ugh. Sanchez needs a body double like Sadaam Hussein, quick.
