Pats D does not scare me as long as our D can do its job. The Ravens D on the other-hand is fuckin terrifying the way our oline is currently constituted. The Pats D has 6 sacks in 2 games just like we do, difference is when you're forced to air it out it's only a matter of time. Our opponents are just about 50/50 in run/pass plays, while the Pats opponents are closer to 75/25 pass/run. So as long as we don't get into a shootout their pass rush isn't that big of a worry.
Wilfork, lined up over center, across from Baxter, doesn't scare you? I think Sanchez is already sucking his thumb in the fetal position.
He's got 3 assisted tackles and .5 sack. Not worried about him, extremely worried for Mark's health against the Ravens if Mangold is not back. We lose his blocking ability but also his line leadership, which includes changing the protection packages.
I agree that Hunter is the main problem on the OL. He looked awful out there. Maybe not Clarke/Bender awful, but not too far off. Mangold being out only makes it harder to cover for Hunter.
Right and Belichick is going to do exactly what Jack Del Rio did yesterday....... keep his DT's lined up over the guards. If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. I am more worried about Wilfork than I am Ngata. Ngata isn't an NT. Not that he hasn't been used there but he isn't one. BB is going line up VW right over center and it has a huge potential to be ugly.
Ravens D is terrifying, but then you see what happened yesterday and after all these years i still can't figure out this league.
The same Pat's defense that is giving up almost 500 yards a game? They don't scare me one bit with or without Baxter at center. They are next to last in defense, down a couple of spots from where they finished last year.
Honestly, you think that defense has to be great to win games with a 30 point head start? You think the Jets offense is going to get 30 points if Sanchez goes out on a stretcher or is harassed to no end? It is a legitimate concern and one that needs to be addressed. I truly hope Mangold can play.
JennyVrentas Jenny Vrentas Mangold's MRI this morning confirmed high ankle sprain, source said. No other damage, which is good. #nyj JennyVrentas Jenny Vrentas Also on Mangold, told "no reliable timetable" for return. Team will have to monitor and see how he progresses. #nyj
I honestly think the Pats have no defense at all despite their off season splurge. Obviously if you spot them 30 points they don't need one. I don't think the Jets will do that, neither will a few other teams.
big deal We lost our center and back up center. This is a big deal. RB's can not run behind a crappy OL. Callahan better get somebody in here ASAP or Sanchez is going to get killed and if we loose another OL......well you do the math.
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta I've also been told that there's no chance Nick Mangold plays vs Raiders. He's out. MRI didn't reveal any ligament damage. #nyj 1 minute ago ยป TheJetsStream Manish Mehta I'm told #Jets are planning on playing without Nick Mangold, who has high ankle sprain, this Sun. vs Raiders. #nyj
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Here's some sobering news re: Mangold's injury. I'm told "it could be awhile" before he returns. Likely out minimum 2-3 weeks. #nyj
