I'd blame the 2nd pic on 3 WR's being within 10 yard of each other and Sanchez eyeballing the one in the middle.
yeah... 3 hooks right at the first down marker, not well spaced, in a 3rd and 15 situation where the D is standing at the line is a head scratcher
It's on Sanchez, Mason was eating a ham sandwich on the sideline. He telegraphed the pass and missed a wide open guy, that was fucking awful.
Mason has not been an improvement over Cotchery. However, Schotty still sucks and I think Rex uses this fact to motivate his defense. He probably tells them the only chance we have to win lies inthe defense's hands. He is right. We need a OC that can gameplan AND adapt during the game. His trick plays drives me nuts.
I didn't like having Keller, Holmes and Mason running the same route on the same side of the field but that pick was all Sanchez misreading the coverage. Still, Mathis was basically covering Holmes and Mason at once.
Nothing on Schotty today. Jets got up, no need to use the quick passing game after they were ahead, but it was evident early. Progress. Hobbes is pleased.
He had one trick play. The offense was fine today. This is not a game to bitch about folks. Just move on.
He gets a pass today. The miscues were Sanchez all the way. It was nice to see some imaginative play calling, but it was pretty clear that most of the runs up the middle weren't giving us much.
The "Shonn Greene up the gut on first down" play-calling was alive and well today. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to not bitch about that regardless of the score. Call it my "bag of 20s".
great job today getting us a td in the first quarter marks taking a shit out there on the field though
It's predictable and it's averaging about 2 yards. Everyone in the room can call that situation correctly 90% of the time.
Running up the middle is usually predictable but it is what our head coach wants the team to do best. Gotta get it working, not get even more pass happy.
I'm not saying getting more pass-happy, I'm just saying call more than one play on first down. Teams are consistently stacking the box on first down for the run up the gut which is almost always a dive. Run off-tackle. Pass on first and run the next two downs. Try a trap instead of a dive. You can vary up your play calling without turning into a Texas Tech spread offense.
I dvr'd the game this week so I'll check this out tomorrow. I had the impression that there was more than one type of run being called though.
You have to give the guy more than two games especially considering the bizarre offseason. I believe Mason will become more valuable as the season progresses.
I was referring specifically to the calls on first down, but it was mostly runs up the a-gap. I don't mind seeing Shonn Greene taking handoffs up the middle. I mind seeing Shonn Greene take a handoff up the a-gap on 90% of the first downs and watching it go for 2 yards because the defense saw it coming and stacked the box.
I get what your saying. 1st down run is usually a dive in the a gap. I wanna check that out and see how often that is the 1st down run. Like I said I had the impression there were different calls in that situation but I'll take a specific look tomorrow.
His best play calling was second half of the AFC game against the Steelers (save for the LT play of course) Where's that Schotty? Wasn't bad today, still hate the routes our WRs runs
