Based on Oakland's defense and our offense providing everything clicks, I could see a consecutive week of blow outs. Even the Bills are a few plays away from their biggest comeback in franchise history against them..although I see a choke job coming but anything could happen. Man today felt good. I think next week will too.
oakland does have a damn good offense, but i feel like our defense should be able to keep them in check. it's our god damned ol that worries me more than anything.
Mangold being out for the brunt of the game really made a difference today. Sanchez felt a lot more pressure. As long as the entire line plays, I'm comfortable going in but they definitely need work. Buffalo just converted 4th and 3 and are now on the Raider 15. Edit - looks like they blew it. Now the Raiders might play us cocky.
Bills are lighting up OAK's D. Fitzpatrick looks good, playing really aggressively. I'd like to see Sanchez do the same next week.
i'd much prefer we sit mangold until baltimore. no need to rush him back for a cross country trip. ideally he stays home and rest.
CBS in S FL is cool enough not to switch from the Bills/Raiders to the Dolfags game. ..... Well, they held out as long as possible.
brutal road trip at oak balt and NE can we win 1 of three? oakland is imperative, and ill take a loss to baltimore if we can whup NE!!
Based on what our coaches have done in the past with back ups, I guess the new center can manage for us. You're probably right. Best to save Mangold for a defense that we need his blocking for.
Holy shit the Bills just beat the Raiders. We're now facing a pissed off home team in one of the toughest stadiums to play in. Now we have a good ball game to win. Needed 1 to keep it alive on 4th down, went for gold and got it.
ANYONE who writes the Raiders off this game is delusional. The Raiders are on the rise and with our O line spluttering, this isn't a given.
yes please. 'toon, I'd say you're right. 14-10 Jets but the Raiders fans can go ahead and shoot a crow and put it on ice for me just in case. (see post 12)
step 1, stop Darren Mcfadden, step 2 block their Dline, step 3 score 17 points, step 4 celebrate 3-0 start.
Baltimore isn't as good as they looked in week 1, but they aren't as bad as they looked in week 2 either. We always have trouble with them, that's gonna be a big road test. I don't see the Raiders as a big threat though--their defense can't stop a nosebleed, as Bart Scott would say. McFadden matches up well against our defense but our secondary is good enough to stop Campbell from going downfield, and without that I'm not too afraid of their offense. There's always a chance that we lay an egg after flying across the country (lord knows it's happened before,) but unless we badly underachieve there's no reason that we shouldn't by 3-0.
No Mangold will make this game tough. If he plays though, the Jets should be able to pull it off. But 3 straight road games across the country to Oakland, then to tough Baltimore and then Foxboro. A. NFL hates the Jets. B. NFL wanted to give the Pats the best chance to beat the Jets. Scheduling 3 straight road games including against a physical Ravens team the week before the Pats? Typical.
The Raiders pass rush has looked pretty good recently. Couple that with Hunter's ineffectiveness the past two games and the possibility of not having Mangold our Oline could be in for a rough day.
